Have hardly driven the Omega over the last few months, but drove it for just over 100 miles yesterday . Still a lovely old thing to drive.
I dread ever having to replace it, although I have no current plans to do so.
Noticed my n/s/f tyre is knackered on outside edge so new tyre and alignment needed asap.

There isn't much that is as comfortable over long distances, even now. Or, perhaps that should read Especially Now....

Agreed. I have toyed with getting rid of it a few times, but always came to my senses in the end.
I do still have a big Lexus and a Jaaaaag xj8 on my car bucket list though.
I already have a tweed flat cap, so just need the pipe, then I will be ready for an old Jag.
At some point may actually flog the Boxster and replace it with one of those two, and keep the Omega as well.

Driven it to Devonshire.  Bit brave, as its only done from Gixer's house to mine since we did the transmission fluid, given the reputation the car has for preferring to travel on tow trucks...

Read the codes on the A6 as an Adblue fault popped up on the display. Not your usual 1500 mile warning, this is a proper hissy fit from the Adblue pump/injector/sensor. Made a note of the code (Reductant pressure too high) and cleared it but it came straight on. Booked it in at Indy Audi garage and preparing myself for a million pound bill.  ::)  ;D
Considering the Adblue Delete option to do away with the pigs piss as it's legal on track cars.  ::)

Yesterday got an MOT pass on the black Omega.

Advisory for front chassis legs, both sides have previously been plated where the engine subframe mount point strengthening plate is. I think some time stripping all the underseal back to see what horrors are presented is required. I think the biggest issue will be if the leg is getting thin by the  steering box location.

I'd be more concerned about the rot spreading backwards along the chassis rails into the bulkhead and floor, which is a much more involved repair. While you're poking around with a screwdriver, check the horizontal fronts of the rails from under the bonnet.

Realistically, serious rot in any of these places is a car killer.

Used the RRS to pick up my pals V8 MGB GT on a trailer from the paint shop, it looks fantastic & so it should with the restoration cost including the purchase approaching £40,000 , I checked several times to ensure it was secured safely, pleased to say it is now tucked away in his garage.

That's an insane amount for a B! But still, if it's what he wants and has the money, why not!

He's a complete fanatic about MGBs his ambition is to have the best V8 in the UK , nothing has been neglected in the restoration of the car , but his other half has no idea what he has spent on it so far.

We went to Rome with him & his wife a few years ago & he complained about his wife spending about £20 on a hat for their daughter! He's a smashing bloke but when it comes to cash he's in a class of his own.😀

Measured up the 1/2 shafts for the Austin, they need to be 6ins and 4ins shorter. Had to centre the prop not the diff hence the difference. Found a place that makes shafts to order, £250 each ----------------
