hi .long shot i know but just before i actually make some has anyone got any of the catalytic converter shields please. for a 2.6/3.2 .not the ones on the body but the ones that are fitted on the cats themselves. many thanks. mine are still present but getting crumbly now and jubilee clipped !

You'll never notice a difference if you remove them.

The "clam shell" ones on the pre cats are insulated to keep the heat in for initial warm up .
the ones after could be removed and then exhaust wrap all the pipes before the main cats ,again to keep the heat in .

this is true BUT they were fitted as standard so gm must have thought they were needed and the n/s one does protect the nearby steering pipes (to a degree) plus my mot man and the mot guide says about 'any risk of fire 'due to missing shields. its not totally clear 100% wether this relates to actual exhaust cover skins or body shields .mine are present and ok at the moment and sshould be ok for the next few years so it will give metime to find or make replacements .
