I'm going to take a punt on this.
« on: 27 December 2020, 13:26:36 »

I bought one of these brand new in 1990 (£4940 after negotiation) and always loved it. A thirty year old example would be just the ticket to 'fettle' during Lockdown. Not sure how much work it needs.

Seriously though if you can get it around the estimate price, what could possibly go wrong?  :y

FJ1200 lumps are pretty bulletproof, so I'm hoping it is merely cosmetic.

Only 130 BHP, but only weighs 230 KG, so should be nippy enough to keep up with the traffic in 2021.

You stick with cardigan's, whippet walking, Werthers original, and dreary derv cars. I'll stick with more life-enforcing things........until it all ends in a messy fireball. ;D

I've had a 2008 1300 for 10 years - very competent and reliable bike. Think they ended production this year unfortunately.

Would that be an FJR 1300?

Don't think they take organ donations from people over a certain age.  :-\ ;)

I have a 90 3cx on a G plate in my garage.  Think it was the last of the non abs models.  Got a shade over 40 k miles on it.  It’s also on my ‘must get round to looking at it sometime’ list....   ;D

If it’s been sitting for a while then the clutch fluid has probably evaporated.....

Well .....the original FJ1100 of 1984 started as a 'brain out ' sport bike with a 16 inch front wheel for super quick steering.

By the time the FJ12 came about in 1986 it was slightly more 'sport tourer' than 'sports bike'. More torque lower down the rev range.
