13.8V is fine.....particularly if driving a reaonable load i.e. a discharged battery!

Hi
I have had recon alternator fitted it cost 95 for alternator and 25 for the fitting however the tests are now saying 12.6 volts for battery engine stood on start up with no load 13.8 v with all accesorrys on 13.65 so im sure must be something else, mechanic said was ok
but im not so sure i always thought it should get to 14 volt when i complained he said its ok trust me what do you guys think. however it is the lowest battery a 53 a/h according to book is for the 2.0 L
