V6 exhaust to manifold gaskets
« on: 18 March 2022, 19:39:54 »

Does anyone know where I can get some genuine 3.0L V6 manifold to exhaust gaskets? Had ordered some from vauxparts only to be told they were out of stock after 3 weeks. Have changed twice in 18 months with cheap eBay parts that don’t last.

Do you mean the manifold to downpipe gasket? Vauxhall part #90499289, 1 per bank? Or did you mean the head(s) to manifold(s) gasket(s)?

Even the third party manifold to downpipe gasket(s) shouldn't fail so quick. Something else must be wrong.

Yes the 90499289. Last set were genuine and last years. Had gearbox off for new clutch and had problems ever since with cheap gaskets. Have cleaned all faces up ready for refit. Just need some decent gaskets. I assume they are just a ring, and don’t go over the 2 studs?

Use old gaskets, with some paste on bothe faces, clean the threads up, and replace nuts use M10 and washers.

Old gaskets we knackered stuck to both faces, and blowing. So trying to get some decent replacements

I literally just did this job tonight 🤣 I did passenger exhaust manifold to head gasket few weeks back only to find exhaust fume whiff coming on again in the cabin. I didn’t bother using a gasket for manifold to down pipe and instead I emptied a bottle of high temp. red poo as my gasket….

It didn’t work hence removing cat and fitting a gasket. I wanted a Vx one but apparently they no longer sell them so got ANother part from MPD.

Drove car and has definitely improved but I suspect other side too now. Tho I was preemptive and ordered two thinking I bet the other sides shot too 👌
