Heater Vacum Pipe Help
« on: 24 January 2009, 11:39:52 »

Problem with  limited heating.  Beside the two heater matrix pipes there is two black vacum pipes.  Both of them go through the bulkhead one is broken and can't see where it goes next to the engine.

Anyone got any ideas.

Check the vac pipe connection to the HBV :)

one of them is the vac feed line to the heater controls.  This gives vac to operate the air distrubition unit.  You can easily check if you have vac because you'll get a hiss when you change the heater settings: footwell to windscreen to face vents.

the other pipe is a vac feed pipe to the HBV.  this should have vacuum when the heating is on cold: so that the HBV diverts hot water around the heater matrix.  all other heater settings, then no vacuum means the BHV does not divert.  sorry but cannot remeber which is which however
