Title: 2003 Omega 3.2 V6 Elite for sale - BEWARE!!
Post by: johnnydog on 22 January 2021, 16:26:24
Just in case any one was in the market for what appears to be a near mint 3.2 Elite saloon.........
Wondered if anyone noticed the 2003 Star Silver 3.2 Elite saloon for sale on Ebay a few days ago - 72k, Vauxhall service history, an immaculate interior and it certainly looked a beautiful car with only two owners....for £4,495.
Registration - KJ03WXS.
Was being sold by Beacon Car Sales, of Nork, Banstead in Surrey, who on their advert claim to Trading Standards Approved, and buyers can 'Buy with Confidence'!
However, it was ended at some point yesterday - I presumed then it may have been sold.
Although a strong price, for a straight car with one could presume, little to do, if in the market for one, it was maybe worth a look as good ones are getting thin on the ground...

However, whilst confined to barracks, I checked the DVLA and MOT history of it.
Last MOT in December 2018 at 146,015 miles :o
Thinking maybe a inputting error of the mileage (they do occur....),
Sept 17 153k
Sept 16 141k
Sept 15 135k
Sept 14 125k etc etc
In Jan 2010 the mileage was the same figure as advertised this week - 72k.

So, hopefully, it hasn't been bought by anyone on here, but if it has, then I know where I would be heading.....immediately.
Now I'm not saying that Beacon Car Sales are dodgy, but they haven't done their homework. And somewhere along the line, it's looking like the car has had a decent 'haircut', unless VOSA have made some drastic errors, which I doubt.....
Is in my watched items, so not sure whether still accessible, but the item no. was 154299421550

2003 Omega 3.2 V6 Elite for sale - BEWARE!!

Hope no one has stolen foul of this seemingly immaculate Omega...

Good heads up, but I don't think any members on here would be willing to pay that kind of money for an old Omega.

it certainly looked immaculate but for that sort of money it would have to be super low mileage . maybee its had a new speedo fitted ? who knows.maybee thats why hes pulled it from sale ? would definately be a good buy thou at a better price especially now knowing the mileage.as stated good ones are getting harder to find.
other stuff hes selling looks excellent and worth the money thou.mileages check out too.

A slip of the digit on my behalf - mileage on VOSA's website in Sept 2017 was 143k, not 153k as I typed in my first post ::) - that was definately my mistake.... :y

KJ03 WXS, the license plate and the colour combo seem very familiar. I'm sure I owned that in 2019 ;D

Bodywork was tatty when I bought it but mechanically it was alright. Needed cambelt and camcovers and pretty much all the usual Omega problems but reliable for the time I owned it other than a rapidly deflating rear tyre. The buyer told me he wanted the engine out of it for his kit car.

I always believed it would be a future classic but STEMO convinced me otherwise so I let it go for £400 nicker

Mileage was in the 140s iirc
