The opposing idiotting media. Again.

"Aircraft declares an emergency after window and large piece of fuselage blows out"

It's called an emergency exit aka a door. What will probably transpire is that following removal for a routine maintenance check the Type 2 exit wasn't correctly reinstalled and this wasn't picked up by the sign off inspection.

Notwithstanding the fact that the amount of fuselage flex in that area on the extra stretched 737 is further evidence that they should have simply reengined the 757 to make a large capacity single aisle aircraft.

Makes you wonder at what point someone in Boeing asks the 737 team wtf they think they're paid for ::)

Although it's a miracle that Bryanair haven't had a similar incident with their derivative of the Max9. Although they seem to be pretty adept at snapping the wing root braces :-X

A good reason to always keep your seatbelt on.  :y

Although I'm not sure even that would save you if a bloody great hole like that suddenly opened up right next to you at 30,000ft?  :-\

Apparently no one fell out :y and it was during the climb. Apparently they stopped climbing at 16,000 Ft.

Although we do suggest keeping it loosely fastened unless actually out of the seat as you literally never know what might happen.

I have to say that standing in the rear galley whilst circling in the queue is a pretty cool practical demonstration of physics of dynamic forces. Standing upright as the tail slips down and back in a banked turn being a personal favourite.

There can and will be questions asked, but it may also have been missed on the walk around as it obviously wasn't fitted properly.

It transpires that Alaskan don't use it as an exit, but just because there isn't an obvious handle on the inside doesn't make it any less of a door ;)

The spooky thing about that story is that last night I watched a trashy documentary about the Aloha 737 that lost a bit of fuselage ;D

And when I say the pictures on the ultra reliable BBC reporting it as fuselage failure, even I just thought "somebody opened the emergency door" (without knowing what safety features prevent that happening ;D

Travelodge.  Apparently the price when it was booked is no longer valid now I'm stood at reception.  self-abusers.

Apple. Poxy useless, stupid oppsing phone no longer broadcasts out its hotspot, despite if saying it is.  Apple's best solution is to talk to them once I've reset the networking on the phone, and if that doesn't help, factory rest the phone.  How about opps Off Jobs you useless idiot.

However, as the bar sells Doom Bar, and my colleagues will be a while yet, all is forgiven

All the dickhead dogooders who don't understand the distinction between Aiden 2 and fulfilling our international obligations to protect international shipping through the Gulf.

If it were the Frechies or Australians on watch, do people really believe that they wouldn't have done exactly the same thing  ???

Perhaps they've taken a leaf out of the Americans book... Flood the telly box with stuff that you can't watch because you're at work and force people to pay for things they actually want to watch.
