Title: Help to name a part? Omega B 1996 MV6
Post by: Walid834 on 23 January 2020, 20:00:42
Hello, after i have changed the valve cover gaskets on my omega, i've had trouble with the car not wanting to stay at a stable rpm when in idle, as soon as the car gets a up to driving temps.. During the change, a "valve" of a part snapped of. and i can't seem to find what the part is called, so i can buy a replacement. SO my question is, can anybody name the part for me? or send me a link to see buy the part?

Ive got good news for you... there's another one of those under your bonnet! And it's on a redundant system, it's the SAI (Secondary Air Injection) System, which is between the front of the engine and the radiator beneath the battery, that area.

The SAI recycles air on a cold engine, just to help emissions a very very slight amount - only at cold, though, makes NO difference once engine is up to temp. I (and many others) have removed this entirely, as the pumps fail, the hoses leak, which causes the engine to run poorly. It's the Omega engine bay's equivalent of an Appendix.

Just fit that one, and while you're there remove and block off the SAI system.  :y
