because the vectra sensor has a different shaped socket which the omega wiring plug won't fit

Vectra one will do but you need the matching plug and a bit of loom.

Mint panel work and interior 125k miles with FSH but sadly an mot failure with usual rot on chassis legs and rear belt anchor points/sill.Not sure what to do. It's a cliche but too good to break

Just watching an episode of the original series which featured a Mg TC with the reg. MML4 and it's still on the road.
