Well, my coolant bottle *FINALLY* arrived from the dealer.  Shame they forgot to put the other stuff I ordered in the box, so they promise to put that in todays post.

Removed the scuttle from my classic and then removed the wiper mechanism. Just in the process of ordering new 'press bars' so that both wipers work rather than just the one.

Cleared out blocked scuttle drains while I was at it.

Today I had the car fully raised off the ground and attacked the rust issues on two of the main chassis members running either side of the engine.

This was raised as an "advisory" at the last MOT, so I have now fully wire wheeled the rust off, removed damaged underseal, soaked it all in rust treatment, then coated everything in Hammerite black paint.

It should satisfy the MOT test for the next few years, I hope! :D :D ;)

Removed throttle body from the V70 and partly stripped it in the hope of finding a cause for the position sensor code I've been getting.Found what looked to me to be a couple of dodgy contacts so made those better, reassembled and re-installed throttle body all seems good so far.

The TPMS warning popped up on the way home from work yesterday. Suggested that the NSF had dropped to 2 bar.

I check my tyres periodically, rather than religiously, so I duly checked all four and found the NSF was indeed low. Not 20 miles later, the warning returned so investigated further.

Jacked up, the odd flint in the tread, and a bulge the size of an apple in the inner side wall...

Which goes some way to explaining both the slight vibration and pressure loss. Looks like the bead failed as no obvious damage to either the wheel or tyre.

The original spare has gone on without hesitation and four new tyres ordered... Suffice to say it's not getting another set of Sumitomo BC100 tyres :-X

Wow shows the worth of TPMS.  :y

The first you'd have known about that otherwise was when it went bang!   :o

I wonder if that's due to straddling speed bumps/pillows?  :-\ It's suggested that's the cause of large/wide rims cracking on the inside edge  :-\

The wheel is fine ;) It's the tyre bead that has failed.

Hammerite might not be the best option, as it's prone to chipping off easily.  Keep a close eye on it.

Various products like Waxoil are potentially a better option.

Swapped it for an A3
She swapped it back.  I'm hoping it will curb her potty mouth. Its fair to say, an Audi A3 isn't on her list as a possible future car ;D
