Omega General Help / 2.0 Ecotec Diss Pack and Plugs question.

Am I right in assuming that the Megy 2.0 eco Diss Pak and Plugs are the same as in the 2.0 eco Vectra?

Also can someone confirm that the plugs should run cooler (1 grade down) if these engines are run on LPG?

Omega General Help / Smoking TD with heavy foot

Started noticing lately that my Tractor Van (2.5TD Estate) is really smoking when I  boot the thing, its my works mobile so mainley sits in London traffic at low to stationally speeds, so at least once a day I give a good blast to clear the crap out, but its  starting to look embarissing with the amount of crap smoke that's  coming out.

The Miles is just over 110K and has allways been looked after (ish, it is a diesel).

I'm I right in thinking worn Turbo or Piston rings or is it something else, any Car Care Product kwick fixes or is she getting to that age now.

Danny, red light is normal on the remote, indicates you have pressed the button.


SNAP!!!, Just tried to get into my MV6 (Facelift) Battrey's completely Flat (the 12v one), I know about this turn it hard because I got in Miggy's b4 like this but mines having none of it, if you turn it really hard it will click but still deadlocked.

I assume its because of the dead battery, I'm going to try tomorrow (too cold now) with some jump leads if I go underneath and connect +12v to the Poss on starter motor will that get back to the battery (or is there a relay in the way? or any other ways of poping the Bonnet without breaking something?

Omega General Help / 2.5Td Auto wont go more than 70Mph!!

As I drive mainly in London I normally take my 2.5TD Meggy for a good thrashing once in a while, it seems to get rid of all that crud and smoke and (I feel) makes the thing run better. Anyhow decided to do the same with my ex missus today (yea shes got a CDX 2.5TD donated by yours truley), Ive not driven her car for about six months now so wasn't too sure what to expect.

The outcome was whislt driving it on the M25, it seemed a bit slugish between 60 and 70, so decided to give it a good bollocking!, only to find it wouldn't do more than 70 / 73 Mph?? no matter what I did, slow build up / fast kick down, it was having none of it.

The only difference between mine and hers is Manual and Auto (Her's), I really dont want to be throughing lots of money at this, as she doesn't do a lot of Motorway miles, but I'm kind of thinking this is going to get worse and not better.

Any idea's, simple thing's I can check?

How easy to replace my 2.5TD CD Estate (pre Face Lift) interior with a full leather Elite Estate interior (my Drivers seat is U/S and really doing my Back in).

Never had an Elite so heres my questions.

The Front Elite seats are fully electric, will these work from any existing wiring that’s already in my CD?

My CD already has Heated Fronts so hopefully no prob’s there, the Rear Elite seats are also heated, so again any existing wiring already in the CD? (no big deal really if they don’t get Heated).

Where are the switches (and Relays) for the heated rears, is it an easy retro fit?

Anything else I should or need to know about, I can get my hands on the Elite leathers and door cards for about £100 so probally worth doing in my book (and my Back).

Omega General Help / Replaced MID now no RANGE display?

A couple of months ago I replaced my faulty pixel MID on my 2.5TD Manual, everything worked except the Range display which just showed either F or 0, I do know that the doner MID came from an 2.5td Auto.

So Im thinking Ok I need one from another Manual (not sure?), before Xmas I managed to soucre a complete Dash Display with MID which I was told was from a 2.5 Manual.

Fitted it today (MID) only to find the same thing everthings working execpt Range this time contant F on the display.

Just to check, as I still had my dash in bits and  I hadn't broken something, I fitted the original Faulty pixel one, drove round the block, it wasn't showing F but some digits (hard to tell coz the faulty pixels).

I now starting to think that the Dash I bought maybe was from a Auto or maybe from a 2.5 Petrol Manual, weres mines Diesel, My dash says Diesel, were the new dash is Benzel?, Any Ideas?

I noticed while messing with it. that if I press both the stalk buttons it displays a range of numbers?, assume these are the MID type number or maybe a fault report numbers but mean nothing to me.

If I read and post these numbers on here anyone know what they mean?

Hi All,

Joined yesterday, so sorry for the delay.

3.0 MV6 Estate Manual (superchiped).
2.5td CD Estate Manual.
2.5td CDx Estate Auto (off the road and in much need of TLC).
BMW 325tdse Saloon.
Sierra Sapphire Cosworth Saloon RWD (310bhp), looks like a 2.0 GL and only comes out in the summer?

Sorry about the BM and Ford?

Currently about to do some upgrading to my MV6 Estate (my current baby) with a Bose upgrade and Colour Screen Sat Nav (CID), so no doubt will be asking lots of dumb (and hopefully not so dumb) questions.

Typical the MV6 is due its Mot within 2 weeks and now decided to only run on 4/5 pots.

So preferbly a known working coil pack and a set of leads (just in case) please.

As above, open to offers before it go on eGay next week, includes door cards and center consol, (manual), really good condition and very clean!  :y

edit: By the way these are like rocking horse p**, and dont come up very often from an Facelift  Estate!!  :y

Ex Thames Valley Ex Police, White Facelift X reg 3.0 MV6 Manual with LSD with stiffened suspension (Not MV6 Facelift Factory spec ride is slightly higher but still stiff), goes like stink, currently GLS spec interior with 15” steels and the usual butchered Radio and Centre Consul. Mileage is 108K with a full 2 page Police Service printout, Service History is stamped to 150K mileage due to age with the force.

1 owner from new, I’m holding it on a Traders Yellow Ticket, but have the full V5 minus the yellow section which is still in the Forces name.

New Cambelt Kit including Water Pump fitted within the last month due to it not being specified on the service print out, bad news is Tax and MOT is out, will probably fail MOT on slight crack on windscreen (drivers pillar side) may not, slightly blowing on the rear box (the weld bit before the back box inlet) and one of the front Head lamp washers is broken / missing.

Drive is spot on and very quick, body work has been sorted no aerial holes, all that bits are done, near / part respray done due to replacement front bumber,  original creased and cracked not front ended, now very clean, very slight rust bubbles (yet to be tackled) on both rear door , lower rear and I mean slight, rear arches and surrounding body work is fine.

This was one of my projects, the last one I bought, but have had some bad news tonight regarding the number of Vehicles stored around my Workshop so some must go, really got too many Omegas on the go at the moment, including some other Red DPG 3.0 and 3.2 ex plod and a 2.0 LPG which I’m committed to finishing, so this one is last in, first out.

I really, really need this  gone by the weekend so its up for very near offers of around £745 as is, or if it helps I’ll throw in some decent MV6 Recaro clothe interior and decent MV6 Alloys which are earmarked for the car for £945 ovno.

Unfortunately I don’t have the time or funds to get this road legal by the weekend and really don’t have time to mess with the ebayers, please remember no Tax or MOT, but I stake my reputation that this is an easy fix, but end of the day it needs to be trailered away as I really need to space free.

Been offered one, the Guys trading in for a cheaper run around, so I can get it for the dealer trade in value, which is not a lot to be honest.

Its a 51 plate, silver, 137k, FSH, never been chipped or modded, bog standard, its been driven hard but never boy raced.

Never owned one, so know nothing about these, are they sellable, any tips, and what to look out for.?
