Someone who shall remain namesless has just filled the LPG Mig full with petrol  , whilst the another Omega still has an empty tank. So, rather than fuff around Im thinking of disconnecting the fuel line from under the Penlium, extend the hose and point it into the other empty tank.

Meaning the fuel pump on the donor car is going to be runing full chat for about half to three quaters of a tank, taking care of course not to run the tank do dry so the pump is still covered with fuel.

Thoughts on over heating the pump?, or go back to plan B and fuff around.

It will run for 6 hours non stop on the road

Power it up from a separate battery to the plug on the top of the tank

It's run for the entire time the engine has for the last 14+ years. It only runs at one speed. And it won't be pressurising a closed system, so won't be working hard.

Agreed, but not at full pressure, well kinda of not, maybe Im being over cautious, wasn't going to use 12V on the Pump, just leave the engine running.

Ok, Plan A it is then,  I'll post up when it goes wrong.  , could just do without forking out for another tank full as well as LPG just so the nameless person can go away this weekend. 

I just seem to have a bit of a reputation for burning pumps out on lpg cars.

I did exactly this but just bridged the fuel pump relay

I used to have a hand cranked pump that originally came off an oil drum. I'd stick the outlet end in my motorbike fuel tank and the inlet end in .....huh hum....my Dads car fuel tank. I never fessed up but he got rid of the car because it was so bad on fuel. 
I felt terrible but I'm sure he'd forgive me if I owned up now.
