If this question does not get "nuked " as I'm not sure of the rules about discussing these type of tools  Will a Maxiscan reader put out the airbag light on a '05 318i BMW ?

Strange one this  . . .as its intermittant  . . .  :-\ :-\ :-\

Any advice greatly appriciated  . . .or apologies if forum rules have been broken here  :-[ :-[

I assume you checked the looms/plugs under the seats  :-\
a common problem area with most cars
what model maxiscan ?
some models may ,some only do engine ecu

Not as yet Dave  . . but could be the issue as it has only started since i moved the seat back to take it for MOT.    Failed on that light being on. & 2 drop links.

This is daughters car  . . .she has also said the light has come on briefly before seemingly when her partner shoves the seat back to drive   ::) ::)

Thinking I'll be looking there & the pass seat occupancy issue first before buying another reader.   Although I could do with one .

What would be the recommended cheapish reader gadget from you guys on here ?

Off to Espania for a week tomorrow  . . .so daughter has been given custody of the Omega to use ::)

General Car Chat / Another MOT pass on the CDX
« on: 31 August 2019, 13:38:33 »
Took the Y reg. CDX estate for its annual check up this morning.  Same garage as usual but a new tester .Delighted when he commented that "This car is amazing for its age". He also commented that even the emissions test was really good & that he could tell that it has been well  looked after  ::) :-[.  So a pass with no advisories this time  . . .so happy days & good for another year .  Looking like the best £300 I've ever spent 3 years ago when I got it ;D ;D ;D

But does make  you wonder about the advisory thing  . .. when some testers just HAVE to put something on for the bloody hell of it  . . .others are quite happy to leave none. ::) ::) ::)

General Car Chat / Clicking injectors . .Hyundai i10 2011
« on: 19 August 2019, 18:48:17 »
Thoughts on this one please gents . . .swmbos 2011 i10   while the lump is not noisy  . . its got this irritating clicking noise .  Had the old "listening stick" out as initially thought it was noisy hydraulic tappets . . . . but no  the noise , as proved by the listening stick is 100% coming from each injector. Move the listening device each side of the injectors onto the head & there is just the usual wirring of the cams etc going on .

So are  injectors usually this noisy?  . . .are they fubared ?. . .or is it just this tin pot car ?
seems a common issue on these  . .so forums say . Forum answer is "Just live with it "
any help advice greatfully received   :y :y :y

General Discussion Area / Re: Import duty from U.S. ?
« on: 11 August 2019, 18:58:22 »
Finally got it . . .  very well packed . . . no case as it showed in the ad . . .guitar itself is very well made  & looks very nice . . .but the hardware fitted is absolute sh*te . .. needs a new bridge (won't adjust) tuners are rip off copies of Grovers. So basicly it is indeed 200 quids worth  :'(
Once I have spent £50 -£70 on it it will be a very decent instrument.  I hope.    Should have just brought an Epiphone 335 from UK stock  :'( :'( :'( :'(

Well Well . . .not from U.S. but bit the bullet & ordered a "Replica Gibs*n 335"  from China around 12th July.

£204 with free courier delivery  ::) ::)

Feedback was good from USA buyers.    Thursday got a letter from Royal Mail at Chelmsford  saying item has cleared customs with  vat & import duty totalling £27.   Had to pay this online
to RM then they will deliver it on Tuesday

Could have had it today but they wanted

 an extra £12 for a Saturday delivery  >:( >:(

So all in all the import duty etc. was not too bad at all .

Although have not actually got the guitar in my hand yet  ;D ;D ;D

Will update on Tuesday  :y

Came all the way from China with no problem  . . .once "Royal Fail" get involved . . .nightmare  >:(

Paid the duty etc online on Friday  . . . could have had it Saturday for £12 extra . .  refused that  . . .so they said Monday . . . no one at home to receive it on Monday so we agreed on TUESDAY.

Nothing by 5pm  . . .called the number  . . .they said   " cannot be delivered until the  £27 is paid"

I said  . . yes paid that on Friday  . . .He said  "oh yes . . . .oops    . . .someone has not processed that"   "will have to be tomorrow or Thursday now"

Cannot stay at home another day  . . .hoping they "might"deliver it .

Effing useless Parcelforce >:( >:( >:( >:(
