Ok  have had Bosch pump delivered. Got assistance to attempt to do it .   But pump is different part No. from my original .

The box has a seal on it , so reluctant to open , but my original pump is longer that the box the new one comes in  . . .
not good :-\

Original part no. is 0 580 453 985    new one supplied is  0 580 453 489   could this be an updated compatible part ?

Waiting for supplier to e mail back as reluctant to break seal and then they wont take it back  . . .but thought I would ask on here while waiting.        TIA Al   :y

Heard that you're not considered to have Long Covid until it's still giving you problems for three months. Anyone else heard this?

Yes  GP says up to 12weeks from positive test is "post covid recovery"  after 12 weeks it becomes "long covid". . . Both the same in my book . . . I feel sh*te

34
Good to hear that although suffering the after effects you got through the Covid.Hopefully your recovery will go smoothly and quickly.

Certainly not quickly  Bazza . . . tested pos on 8th Jan  . . .had it bad for 11 days  . . started to recover slowly.

The main covid issues have gone  but feel a wreck , can't do anything remotely physical without feeling nauseous and dizzy . Only just started to drive again ,   but limited distance at moment .  8th Jan  . . .1st March now  . . .thats a lot of weeks ::)

Sorry to hear you've been very Ill
I hope your health picks up speedily and you get back to 100% very soon  :)

Using a VPN seems to be a common problem when logging in to the OOF  :-\
Hopefully someone more IT savvy than me  :D might be able to advise how to resolve your laptop issue if VPN is the problem

Yes Dave ,  i'm sure putting the VPN on the laptop caused the issue . Although now ditched it and rebooted it still won't let me get on OOF  . . .says I'm banned  >:(

welcome back Al. Can you manage to pick up your Strat ? If you can, What you moaning about ?
If you cant, you have my deepest sympathy.  :y ;D

Hi  Albs      Just been able to in last couple of weeks.  I ordered one of the new Indonesian made Squier 50's strats just before I got the Covid. Only opened it to check it when it arrived , then stayed in the box for several weeks .  Have set it up now and got the "Big Boys" 11 gauge strings on it  and it is quite amazing for the money. Fiesta red  and very Hank Marvin  ;D ;D

Sorry to hear you've been poorly, Al, hopefully your health will improve with time. The wife wasn't too bad with the actual covid, but it took her quite a while to get her breathing back to normal.
I expect your recovery will take longer as she is quite young and you're a really old geezer. ;D

But I'm still younger than you , you old git  ;D ;D ;D

symptoms point to the pump
the fuel pump uses fuel to lubricate itself ,so running out of fuel thus running the pump dry can kill it  :(
Carltons suffered badly with poor electrical connection to the pump plug
fuel pump relay on Omega is a very simple relay, easy to get at and bypass for test purposes /
also worth checking you don't have any immobilizer stored codes

No codes showing Dave.  The fact that thumping the tank lets the car start and run fine  must point to it being the pump. . . do you agree.    My diagnosis at first was  . . crank sensor  or fuel pump .

Serviceable in that you can replace just the pump rather than the whole swirl pot assembly
pump clicky 9196213 is showing for caravan (estate) and saloon
https://vauxhall.7zap.com/en/car/v94/g/0/23-1/#4

Is replacing just the pump fairly straight forward . . . as in get access to whole pump assembly through estate load area floor, take pump out of "swirl pot"  , replace and reassemble / :-\

Thanks for your reply. :y

Hi guys
not been on here much recently  . . .2 reasons ..    Had Covid quite bad , am sort of recovered now  . . .but have the hanging on "Long Covid " symptons still.   The other reason is I have to use the old PC upstairs to get onto the site, for some reason my laptop won't allow me access and says I am banned from the site . I know next to "nuffin" about I.T. etc. so just using upstairs PC for OOF access when something important comes up .

So just a heads up to say I am still about , as had a message or two from OOF members asking if i was OK  ( thanks for that)

Regards, Al   :y
