Just been listening to a discussion on the telly about the fact that apparently a new law is to be introduced in Scotland.
The law will stop anyone under 18 being put in prison under any circumstances !
I cant find the words tbh.

Under any circumstances is a bit mad. Some people through behaviour or mental state need to be locked up for public protection, regardless of age.

And I don't know what the score is in Scotland, but in Ingurlund there's a massive amount of hoops to go through to get a juvenile charged with most offences... Never mind going to court and getting sent to a Young Criminal Ideas Seminar. I mean YOI.

There is a huge amount of work goes into intervention and looking at the bigger picture, which is how it should be. Id rather put the effort into diverting someone now rather than lock them up and then lock them up again in six months time. But there are some situations where a custodial sentence is the only option...

I am hoping that there's still to be some capacity for secure medical placements...

As a Scot I pay a lot of attention to what is going on back home even down to watching Scottish news each day from SW Ireland ......
The Country is utterly ruined by the SNP government who are incompetent ,shamelessly corrupt and shambolic in every area of their responsibility.
I could list >50 instances where they have lied , cheated , prevaricated and perverted the course of justice in their tenure .
Billions , yes billions ,of Westminster funds unaccounted for , vast sums of taxpayers monies sunk into dead in the water projects and all but ignored by the MSM .
Sturgeon's arrogance and duplicity knows no bounds and as long as she dangles the carrot of another referendum the cretins that vote for her will do so again whilst she and her troughers fiddle in the glow of the flames of a once great country.
My ashes wont even go back there now .  >:(

This just popped up on a thread . He was until recently Justice Minister and now is in charge of health .. this couldn't be closer to the truth.  ;D

Joking apart, that has to be the post of the year on the forum and the year is but a third done.

My view is that a lot of politicians lead some sort of cocooned life from that of real people. Official vehicles to and from their home, nice place of work and so on. Removed from the real world.
