Daft me left my lights on in tesco carpark. car dead doors locked,Mechanical key no joy, green flag man crawled under front of car and did something to open bonnet.I have read on here before that it is a grill smash to do this. What did he do? Mecanical key perhaps we were afraid of snapping the key.

Hello Lizzie talking about old people I have recently had my cills welded and a rear brake rebuilt.Ok the welding I could not do but a brake rebuild I would have enjoyed doing but now it is easier to farm it out but I always wonder if the job has been done as well as I would like.At 87 I could be the oldest member of our club. Get it fixed and avoid the stress.

Hello Raeturbo I know how you feel I had a fail on my mot and I need some welding done and my handbreak has gone haywire.I will see what the quote for repairs is and then decide what to do.It is a shame that the omegas are heading for the scrap yard.

For some reason my problem has disappeared All my keys and locks are now operating as they should on remotes and mechanicals. I dont know whether it is the heat that is affecting the car or me Thanks for the inputs

The problem was that the doors would not unlock with the remote.I tried the key unlock and could hear some movement inside the door but would not open, I tried the boot with the remote it unlocked with no problem.Left it a while and remote opened doors I think that the open and shut switches in the remote are playing up.Yes the passenger door lock is suspect and needs attention.Yes Doc this is  the car that we sorted when drivers door lock failed completely,

I do have a lazy passenger  solenoid but I can put up with that but not with complete lock out,Just tried unlocking having left the car for a couple of hours and all is well. Is the heat getting to cars as well as people.
