Evening guys. Hope you’re all well.
When folk post up alignment figures pre-WIM I notice they’re always excessively negative camber. Which makes sense...as older suspension sags it’s not going to go more positive is it!
So. Hypothetically speaking. What is the harm in putting it positive? Curious bear 🐻

....when I say positive I don’t mean 3degrees positive... I just mean north of -1’ 10. Say -0.5 for example.

The car will drive like a complete dog and the outer edges will wear stupidly quickly... Assuming that you get to drive it far enough to show wear without crashing and dying ;)

So the difference between -0.5 and-1’ 10 is imminent death. What would be the symptoms?

Your example is still negative camber, just not much ::)
If you have the means to, then I would politely suggest that you have a play and report back...
If nowt else, you should experience enough variation to understand how the recommended setting came to be ;)

The impact will likely be front end stability, so the front will be wandery and imprecise both in a straight line and in corners. Outright mechanical grip in bends will suffer to.
Its all a compromise, but we've found the best compromises for rear toe/thrust (rear camber irrelevant), front camber, toe and castor. Stick with it ;)

Thanks guys. I completely plan on sticking with it. As i said from the start just pure curiosity as nobody I can recall has ever mentioned it that’s all 😄
