Title: If you'd told me...
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 20 March 2021, 17:36:26
... a year ago that I'd be stood meekly in a line waiting to be injected with a vaccine that didn't yet exist, hadn't gone through years of clinical trials and that the government had waived the pharmaceutical company of any liability, I'd have laughed at you and said No way Jose or words to that effect.  ::)

Yet  there I was this morning stood meekly in a line.....   :)

It will be the Sputnick One. No alcohol for 10 days before or 40 days after otherwise your butt cheek crack gets bigger.

Plenty of Jose's here wishing there was a vaccine to be able to be injected with!

Good point though Sir Tigger. Normality has been totally suspended  in the last 13 months. No foreign hols likely this year either.........

or you could just book it yourself on-line in case they messed up or don't know your details .

if you are registered with a doctors surgery ,know your own name , date of birth and postcode then it takes 5 minutes on-line  ;D

Yep, that's what we did, booked online for first and second jab. We've had the first jab, second jab booked for about twelve weeks later. There wasn't a queue either, in and out in under ten minutes. They just told us to walk about/sit down after the jab for fifteen minutes before I drove so I went in Greggs and pigged out on snacks.  ::)
They recommended taking paracetamol before and after to help to counteract any side effects.

That seems to be the one that people notice having. Probably down to the way it works. Some sort of reaction is generally thought to be a good thing as your body has to respond to the effects, which in turn strengthens the bodies defences to the disease/virus ;)

Mrs & I had Oxford AZ. Very tired and a bit sort of distant for about 36 hours, then fine.

Have to add, very well organized by local GP (Wales). Not had second yet.

Yes it probably means that Rae has a strong immune system and his body was rallying the troops to repel the invaders!  :)

Thinking that through... If you have no reaction, does that mean you have already had Batflu  :-\

could be ..... I had the AZ jab with no effects/reaction other than a slightly tender arm for a couple of days. I had 'Batflu' back in October

If you already have antibodies it's possible you'll get a stronger reaction. Some are saying the 2nd jab is a bit more noticeable.

Had my 1st a week ago and apart from a dead arm and being completely knackered the next day (but it was a Monday) no ill effects.

I read that if you had a Covid infection previously , knowingly or not , that the body can react with fever, headaches ,flu like symptoms etc as the body attacks the fake virus, thinking it's Covid again and antibodies can be 150 times more than someone never infected with Covid .

found the article  clicky linky  (https://www.aol.co.uk/living/strong-reaction-first-covid-19-214925887.html?fbclid=IwAR2gxZIl6-3RF2NeFLvuIW7mJ3rdWuJsW8OZJ6Sp-9DcUxcrLjVFDuiBqeI)  :)

I also read the the older you are the less effects you get, maybe true as my 91 year old Mum had no ill effects at all

That's strange as all the elderly folk round here had their first and second jabs weeks ago.  :-\                                                                                    :P  ;D

Yes, forty-thirty-seven

The great thing about the 'enlightened woke times' we live is that people can identify however they wish. A grasp of reality is no longer necessary, or even desirable, as demonstrated when filling out the census.

I said forty something. To be specific I now identify as  a 43 year old MILF with big tits.

I've never had such fun. :y
