Omega General Help / 95reg 2.5 V6 secondary waterpump
« on: 08 October 2011, 09:42:58 »
Wöyy guys,
where can I find the auxiliary waterpump in my car? Where it is in my mate's MV6 I couldn't find in mine! Instead I found there the evaporator of LPG set. Or there isn't one in 2.5 ?

Thanks for any advice

OK, I've already found a source here. Not a huge amount of money per bottle.

My one just seem to be old, before I bought the car got younger engine. The 2th owner  before me did and the previous one put into that wrong oil. I investigated (fortunately there are a lot of Omega fanatic here so, hm,  that was not a hard job):D The  only original part is the HG but it's restored as well.  :y I'm not afraid of cracks.  :)

Cheers

My mechanic recommended using of inside cleaner additives. Does GM have any? Do you have any experience with similar additives?

Omega General Help / Faked oil?

Hi all!
My iron is 500 km after oil change but since that I can still hear strange noise from camshafts (valve voice) and crankcase :'(. Previous owner used Castrol 10w40 and I've decided the change for recommended GM oil. Is it possible that's existing faked GM 10w40 semi-synthetic?  OR is Castrol Magnatec better? I'm reluctant believing in. Any special act has to be done at time of change of different oil type? The noise is not strong but scaring me  :-\ especially at low rev (idle) hearable well. Pump doesn't push enough at low rev? What do you propose?

Many thanks,   Laszlo , Hungary

Hi all,

the auto transmission was removed by the previous owner of my car and put into a manual one. TC doesn't work , my questions are : was there any electric connection between the transmission and ABS/TC block needed to proper operation? Can I use TC with manual gearbox?

cheers  Laszlo

Make your own bloody topic!  >:(

plugged mine in to find the abs fault but it doesn't store anything, am i right in thinking its the old hall sensor type?
No need for that mate. He`s a relatively new member and not in the UK.

No I dont think its the thermostat, thats been changed recently. As for the headgasket.
I changed the headgasket last autumn because I had big trouble with the engine temp.
The temp was fine during winter, but this summer its the same thing with the engine temp???????? Why?
I thought it could have something with the auxiliary pump...
Hi, I would try at first an inside cleaning of cooling system. Pipes, cooler, rad. All. ;)

Dry or aged bearing becomes hot sooner than it's environment so if I were you I would try to find a place anywhere on (cold!) engine surface what is warmer than things around that! The whistling may come from crankshaft, alternator, waterpump, camshaft or any turning part is accelerating when you accelerate...At this time we use a screwdriver trick as we call that, putting screwdriver between your ear and the surface you want to scan. Or if you have you can use stethoscope as well but our experience is that stethoscope over sensitive to screwdriver...

hi all ,i need help for a omega cdx 2.0 w reg 2000 ,here we go
i have a whistling noise sound like turbo noise (but dont have a turbo) coming from engine bay, only when i accelerate its getting louder .bought 1 of those stethescopes 2 find out where coming from but its still there ,so far ive had the timing belt and rollers fitted ,fan belt fitted ,oil and filter changed, new exhaust and manifold plus gaskets fitted, new alternator , but noise still there
any help would be grateful

 >:(

don't worry, some of your belt you've changed is sliding, not tensioned enough! That noise is caused by smuggling how some belt is sliding on it's roller or tensioner! Check 'em and give feedback!
Sorry for my poor english, I'm not from UK.  Fapad

The fault code store was cleared and I restarted my Omi till the problem returned. Made flashing again and now "O2 sensor low voltage" massage was taken. I think it's already relevant result...  Thx
