Today was never going to go well...
« on: 30 June 2013, 01:46:29 »

Mahoosive thanks to Josh and Symes for their input, and especially to that Gixer fellow for all his efforts today :y

Went to get out of the car at Oxford, only to find that the drivers door wouldn't open from either the inside or the outside :o

The lock mechanism had failed internally, jamming it shut, which is less than ideal ::) still, thanks to Chris for supplying a replacement mechanism, and a very determined AA man for getting the door open so we could fit it :y

Apologies for the problem Tom, and I trust you had a safe and uneventful trip home :y

Indeed :-[ quite embarrassing really, as I was delivering the car to its new owner... compounded somewhat by my managing to lock the keys in the car during the early attempts to release the latch :-[ :-X

Still all's well ends well :y

Yep, we got there in the end.

Fair play to the AA man, he wouldn't leave it, and wasn't obliged to fix the door, just unlock the car. Good man. :y

Pot luck I think Wilf, we got lucky with this guy. Bless him. :y

...actually, thinking about it that's probably unfair, on the few encounters I've had with the AA they've always been as helpful as is humanly possible.

I think he relished the challenge tbh, but have to agree, I've yet to meet an unhelpful AA patrol :y
