Those are good plates, just for their simple / old format. But no one would know their significance unless they knew the family.
Interesting plates that are immediately recognisable for their humour or interesting format are ok in my book, but other non descript plates that mean absolutely nothing to Joe Public always give me the impression the owner has visions 'above their station'.
Just my thoughts......
Always makes me smile when i see a car for sale with the words, "cherished reg plate" or " private plate included" etc. They may have meant something to a previous owner, but very little to anyone else. ???

The plate on my recent purchase is N111 LDD. No idea if it meant something to some previous owner or not, but to me it just makes the car seem older than it is. Its a year 2000 car btw.

.....

Last car I owned that came with 'points'

They should be made illegal  ::) ::)
My next car might have those ;D

can you still buy a Sparkright box of electrickery to f**k the points off?

Any car I bought that had them would be modified asap ....  ;) ;)

I find it satisfying to put my feeler between a nice clean pair and then push them together slightly for a nice snug fit.

15 thou if I remember rightly.

Think one of the most famous plates in the late seventies early eighties was STR1P, believe it belonged to Paul Raymond owner of strip clubs & then Fiona Richmond a stripper who made a few bob.

Iirc Fiona Richmond had FU2 as her reg plate.
A bloke who lived in the same village as me (in what used to be the local priory, which is a huge place) had FU5 in his E type.
He owned FU,s jeans company.

My memory of insignificant details from long ago is quite good. I have no memory of what happened 5 minutes ago though.  :)

I recall seeing a picture of her in a car with the aforementioned PEN15 plate. So was it phony?
