Doubt you'd get it through an MOT without cats.

Genuine GM from manifold to backbox is the way to go...

Agreed, GM stuff is much better quality its quieter too and will last longer.

My original GM one lasted 95k miles / 6 years!

I fitted cat back GM on mine from Vaux for £220 on TC  :y

Going with anything other than genuine Vx is a false economy. It is simply not as good.

Oh, and please turn the caps lock off!  ;)

See if you can get access to a Trade Club card, it will be give big savings on exhausts.

Or join the autobahnstormers, once joined (£20) you get a member card, this also gets you trade prices at Vauxhall.

Ohh and as mentioned, please turn off your CAPS lock. Capitals on internet is shouting! and there is no need  :y

The genuine Vauxhall ones from dealer are the quietest.  Expensive unless you have access to Trade Club though (if not, join ABS).

Pattern parts ones sound crap.

That is an excellent price for stainless steel!

Had quotes of £400 plus for my old Mondeo on stainless... never bothered.

Last GM zorst lasted 6 years / 95 k miles. If i get the same i'll be happy  :)

I have had powerflow systems on various cars before and off the shelf systems from magnex and the like

I like the powerflow approach as the buyer can decided what finish, how noisy, how many tail pipes etc and all with a lifetime gurantee

hi guys its the exhaust guy thanks for all your info on the problem, well i got some desisions to make a gm right through will cost me in cornwall dealership £1123.39.and thats got to hurt anybodys pockek.kwik fit were my mate is has done a deal full system with cats instaled should be £574.30 but can get for £480.00.and this is a bosel exhaust.3years guarantee.however powerflow have given it a look and complemented me on my bosel flexi pipe job to get me by with not having any cats, they can do cats, system, plus to bypas pipes so can have best of both worlds and twin 3inch outward rolled tail for £360.00.fitted with two universal cats, two centre boxs two keep floor pan noise down and back box.so guys which way do you think considering i got uprated fuel pump on,stainless steal dual air induction kit do you think should go the hole hog like powerflow recommend to get most out of car with induction etc or keep it standard system.hense gm very dear even if had trade card and i thank you all for the help with that as well guys so many kind offers that i havent rulled out yet .just want to go down the right road first time and final time.considering i have asked powerflow to make a system thats not loud as well ,as i dont want it loud ,but sporty is fine,i think for value and made to measure in stainless with the best of both worlds decat option and cat option to my own conveneince.its hard to decide and part with such large sums of money as any one of us married men with kids will know (got to keep wife happy to)she likes the sporty idea but does not want it noisey.please give me some feedback so can make a majority vote here would be very gratefull.thanks guys mike(remembered to keep caps lock off) :-/

The Bosal the Kwit Sh!t use are pretty poor. If they last 3 years I'd be amazed - the guarantee relies on you forgetting/not being bothered in claiming...

So stainless it is then ;)

well thanks guys if bosel are not worth sniffing at and gm way to pricey then well it looks like its cats and system with bypass pipes so have option to change from powerflow then.i have been down this road with my 150+bhp redtop calibra years ago and it was i admit the dogs balls and apart from me having a freeflow single box system then wasent very noisy and opened up loads of bhps and most importantly torque levels were right up.umm we probably booking in to powerflow on monday for the works for under £300.00.money talks and more so when its back in your own pocket and the performance side with lifetime guarentee helps too.cheers all will let you know and get some pics up of final job.will have to do rolling road to see results.

Me too, I am going for the powerflow option on my 99 2.5v6, after searching far and wide Powerflow seem to have all the boxes ticked. Does anyone know if they can provide an irmscher "double d" type tail pipe ??

I think you can cut the cost down by having 1 single pipe instead of the twin centre pieces. Not sure if this will affect performance though :-? I have a picture of the single on a Omega but dont know how to attach it to show you

Kostas (Omega V6cd) is the man to speak to about SS systems.

He had one on his 2.5 V6 last year and will be able to advise on the best choice of single/twin centre sections.

I'll ask him to add his comments.

i going for two individual banks 60mm left bank centre box into back box and 60mm right bank going into centre box into back box with cat bypass pipes fitted each side from down left and right down pipes this is what powerflow priced up and recomended as best performance for balanced back presure.

Hi guys,
below are a few links of the pictures i took when i fitted the exhaust at Blueflame.
i went for 1 centre section as there was no need for 2 plus i could save a bit of weight.
The use of 2 centre secrions is required for low noise emissions during the pass by noise testing of a vehicle. Since i wanted a sporty note from the exhaust 1 centre section was more than enough.
The system as you can see in the pictures joins the cats with 57mm pipe and then these pipes form a y section to join the 63mm inlet of the centre box. Attention is needed so that the angle of the y section is kept small so that you could benefit from the pulsation of the gases and not oppose their forces. After the mid box the 63mm piping continues till the back box and at last there are 2X60mm tailpipes that look subtle and don't make the exhaust look aout of place. I paid 325£ for the system and it took them a good 5 hours to fabricate it. It is quiet and sporty in the same time and when first drove the car with it i felt the engine more lively accross the rev range(this might be due to the fact that the old system was knackered).

nice looking kit thanks for your imput will chat to powerflow in more detail about single centre section on monday before they start.chears will have to wait and see as i dont want it to loud so as long as the noise comes from the back box and not up the floor pan ideal,i like the luxury of the cabin with low noise levels so will see if its to my requiments doing it like that many thanks as it will be catless so have to consider that as well.

Just got off the phone from Stafford Powerflow, they are really helpful and will knock me a system up like yours on Thursday.....an extra £100 for the 2nd pipe to keep a tiny bit of noise down was a bit much for me. Besides I`ve got used to the sound of a blown silencer !!!
Formula 1 want £190 for a tin foil system. Powerflow want £280 for quality, iits a no brainer :y :y
Let us know how you get on Mike

Don't fit a BOSAL. I had one fitted and made the car sound like a 1976 RS 2000.
I wish I had paid a bit more for a genuine one. Can't wait for it to fall off. >:(
