Sharing parts enquiries?
« on: 04 November 2014, 19:36:39 »

I keep getting loads of requests through egay for parts I don't have or have sold , I was thinking those of us who occasionaly murder break omegas could possibly share requests for parts here somehow, not sure how but maybe via pm or ebay/facebook id's ?? Seems a shame that a few quid could be made and more migs outside of OOF kept running  :-\

Any thoughts?

Just send them a link to the forum :y

Whilst that would increase traffic, the traffic it would encourage would be negative to the Forum in general.

They would only join to beg, borrow and steal the parts they want and spam the hell out of the forum to make 250posts.

Just my 2pence.

If you get a request from say ebay for a part you don't have, you could pop a wanted ad up, buy it off the member and then sell it on with a mark up.  :y

Alternatively you could act as a 'broker' by popping your wanted ad up and then do a bit of 'match making' between the OOFer and egayer.  :y

Not sure how either ideas would work with forum rules though....  :-\

OOF is not here to help businesses (including those individuals who should be declaring to HRMC but don't) make money. Why should the Admin team pay a small fortune to run it, so others can milk it for their own gains?

OOF is purely here to help Omega owners keep their cars going as best and cost effective as possible.

I'll happily present the idea to the Admins, though you can guess what way my vote would go ;)

That's a fair point from TB and possibly the only sensible comment Uncle STMO has ever made on here!  :y
