0420 0430 codes - should I care?
« on: 23 April 2010, 09:15:59 »

Hi all, I have just done the pedal trick to see if there were any fault codes in the ECU and I have 0420 and 0430.  I know these are cat effeciency codes and I do have an LPG conversion that is just about to be serviced.  Question is should I do anything about this? I don't fancy doing the move the lambda sensor thing, I don't have the tools or expertise to even attempt this, or should I wait until the LPG system has had its' service and see if the codes go away?

Thanks

Paul

Nope....if you do care, get the post pre-cat lambdas moved to after the main cat

I'm in Horspath early evening tonight if you want to pop over and get the codes reset, see how long it takes for them to come back.

But, ultimately, you will at some point be looking to move the sensors....

The Boy, kind offer and many thanks, but I have been detailed to take my daughter to her school bingo fundraiser tonight, ho-hum.  Strangely the EML hasn't bothered to come on yet though, I was just curious about the air con codes (if any) and there weren't, but I am going to get the LPG system serviced and see if that helps.  I hope so as the car is running beautifully and returning a good 26MPG on LPG at motorway speeds, any more would be a bonus! And especially as I am driving around 900 to 1000 miles a week.
Thanks again

'done 70k and 3 MOT's with my cat warning light on.  No problems at all with performance or mpg.  Just stick some black tape over it to avoid the glow at night!  I've seen a few with the bulb removed as well............ :-?
