Hi all, I have noticed that the computer display in my Elite is stating 'Washer level fluid low', so with this I filled it back up, it is still  reading the same. My question is would I have to get a new washer bottle?

Omega General Help / Here's one for you techies.........
« on: 10 January 2008, 22:07:33 »
Hi everyone not been on here lately not had any probs either, so I would like to have some piece of mind really. Soon to be an owner of a 3.0ltr, (hopefully if all goes well), and I know that the 3.0ltr's use the AR35 autobox rather than the AR25 autobox. So my question is.......
how reliable is the AR35 compared to the AR25? The trouble is that autobox's and myself don't really get on that well so just need to know if its going to last a while or flunk out after a couple of months. At the moment I don't know much about the car and the history of it yet so I am unfortunately unable to answer any questions about it yet, I suppose I could ask stuart30 but keep forgetting toask him everytime I pm him so I must ask him tomorrow.
Thanks for your help in advance

Omega General Help / Car idles then stall's 3.0 v6
« on: 27 September 2007, 20:25:06 »
As above. All the vac pipes are in the correct places. No air leaks except for the rear actuator pipe broken but glued back. Adjusted the throttle cable to increase the idle to 1000rpm and now it doesn't stall. Dose this point to the idle valve or something else? I am now starting to get fed up with the stalling and need it sorting out. Please help.

Omega General Help / Poor and sluggish acceleration?
« on: 28 September 2007, 18:17:11 »
Another one for you P reg 2.0ltr auto. My dads' car has now poor acceleration and is sluggish when pulling away and when bieng driven normally. i thought it was down to the front pipe and cat but that has been checked and thats fine. Could this be a result of.........

1) HT lead's starting to break down?
2) Oil in the plug well's?
also has an oil leak but this is red oil not engine oil. Not to sure where it is coming from but its coming from the front of the car. I believe it could be the power steering fluid resivuoir but not sure.
Could anyone point me in the right direction as it is bugging my dad. He has had the car for ten years from new, it's also had regular service's by a garage who knew the car and my dad but then closed down after 20 year's of service (was a franchise) and now has to take it to hemel hempstead to the main stealer's who are dumber than dumb. I just want to help him out in saving money as he is now an OAP and doesn't have much money (yeah right!) thats what he tells me! So if there is anyone out there that has the same problem's and rectified them could you help an old man sort his pride and joy out for him (and me cos then he will say thankyou)

Omega General Help / Rad hot on one side.
« on: 09 September 2007, 20:55:46 »
As above, but I have done a coolant flush and a rad flush. Now to me this is pointing to a blockage in the rad on the passenger side of the rad, is this right? If this is right I take it I have to take the rad out and flush it through, or would it be a case of renewing the rad? Advise would be appreciated.

Thanks Paul  :y

Omega General Help / Problem? Help needed
« on: 05 September 2007, 20:14:33 »
Just cleaned the throttle body on my 2.0ltr 95 miggy, new IACV and now it idles at 2500 rpm and gets hot very quickly. The hoses get so hot I cannot touch them switched the engine off and took the rad cap off and let it just gurggle away (this I take it there was air in the system). Anyway When I replaced the throttle body I noticed that the gasket was torn and a small piece was missing. I assume this is why the car races at 2500 rpm due to sucking in more air than needed. I just want this to be confirmed so I can a new gasket and hope that nothing else is wrong.

Omega General Help / rather Idler Arm :(
« on: 01 September 2007, 23:13:16 »
So today I thought I start to change the steering idler arm on the mig.Put the car on ramps, undone the three nuts, put a jack under the idler arm to put pressure on, steel bar on the steering bar, club hammer and a whacking I did do. Three and a half hours later THE rather IDLER ARM IS STILL ON THE BLOODY CAR!!!!!!!  >:( >:( No matter how much we belted the bar it did not crack the idler arm. Yes coated it with WD40 left it to soak for about half an hour tried again still no joy. I think the only thing left is to heat the bloody thing up so its so hot that hopefully with a few whacks it should just pop off.  I have never had so much of a problem with an Idler arm than this one. This one is stuck on solid and it is not moving.

H   E   L   P   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to get this off before Wednesday as the car is going in for the rear handbrake shoes to be done. Ideally needs to come off tomorrow (sunday). Any other suggestions I could try?

Thnx Paul :y
