PICCYS! Just a few with my cameraphone.

You all missed a fantastic meet, around 800 oofers turned up, as you can see by the first photo. This was taken from the Concorde which we all had a free trip in. The next few pics were at the bottom end of the car park, which is why it looks like there are only three Omegas there. The remaining 800-odd cars are behind me. Honest.

It was a very successful meet, met loads of very friendly oofers, though after one of the dancing girls' stilettos pierced the bouncy castle there was little energy left for any more picture taking, and therefore no further evidence.

But it was a great day, and those who didn't manage to get to Lincoln missed out on a real treat. The free backstage passes that AC/DC were handing out, have, before anyone else asks, now run out.

I'll second that.

Very nice to meet you lads and lass. Will upload a couple of ropey cameraphone pics I took today in a bit. Having a phone with built-in Wifi is brilliant, although its ability to upload to the web images is limited when you're mum is currently using it to text.

Sadly looks like my mate RobG1984 wont be attending, as he's STILL waiting for the postman to bring him his tax/insurance. Unfortunately the police seem to think that "I was going looking at Omegas in a car park" isn't just cause for driving without either!

Political correctness gone mad.

Sorry we wont be seeing you either, Amigo

What are you laughing at? I'm still washing it out from under my fingernails!

Do you know what I gave the cows for breakfast this morning? Moo-seli  :D :D :D :D

If I may be so bold as to make a list of those who can attend?

Obviously its not cast in stone, and this is just a provisional thing, just copy and paste, as with the now famous Powerflex Poly bushes thread  :D

Glad to see there's plenty of interest in a Lincs meet.

Also the idea of Woodcocks sounds good. The fact that it has the word 'cocks' in it would no doubt keep us all highly amused for the first hour or so.  :D

Myself and two fellow oofers are likely to be meeting in a week or so, to take delivery of a few parts, a fourth will be invited (lives in the same town, rude not to at least invite him!) so perhaps a semi-official/informal meet may germinate from that? Soon as he's confirmed to be coming will post the date.

Well this thread seems to have died a death, much like the Lincolnshire car industry  :y
No takers? May I suggest a fortnight as of today?

(to all non-yellerbellies the big joke is Lincolnshire doesn't have a car industry)

I would add that myself and another oofer are Linconshire lads, so that's another two to the pot, as 'twere.

How about a disused airfield...does anyone know East Kirkby, and if they allow clubs and the like to meet up there, like the ABS do at Duxford?

(I'm not calling East Kirkby a 'disused airfield', by the way, it's just a great day out, is all, so if we all decide we don't want to talk to each other theres a taxiing Lancaster bomber to look at instead :y)

Cheers fiend61

At an educated guess I think we're talking a box full of stuff around the size of the box you'd get a portable telly in. (if anyone remembers portable tellys!)

So would sit on a back seat fine, I reckon.

Thanks! Anyone else..perhaps got to visit relatives in Harrogate, but live in Grimsby??  ;) ;)

Hi all. A similar conundrum a fellow oofer mentioned in a recent thread.

I have my eye on something on the bay of e, collection only, of course. Just wondered if anyone was near Harrogate, and was heading anywhere near me, in N E Lincs. I wouldnt mind travelling a certain distance, but im pretty certain its not viable for me to go all the way to harrogate, thats all. But happy to meet 'half-way' etc.

Just a thought, any input is greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance!  :)

When we went out it was a proper white out... Actually had to turn the headlights off and use the fog lights on the unlit roads :o :o Seriously considered going straight back home but decided we'd just keep an eye on the weather :y

Drive safe Mike ;)

Saving on the electric??  :o 8-)

It's a few cars buzzing around a few tracks for a few months of the year. When you consider there are around 750MILLION motor vehicles in the world today, its not exactly saving the planet by making these few dozen burn fuel a bit more efficiently, is it?

I'm in agreement, pathetic.

Actually, I want to see F1 cars burn fuel LESS efficiently, loads of blue smoke, slightly-iffy tuned carbs spitting fuel, dodgy cross-ply tyres losing grip and blowing out, huge explosions!
