My car is still for sale. Anybody out there interested in buying ?
Pictures as per my previous posts and summary details here…

Vauxhall 1st owner then 1 person before me
I bought it on 3/3/07 @ c. 29,056 miles.
Current mileage 103,700 although still used infrequently so will rise a little.
I’ve bought an MPV and so unfortunately I now need to sell.
Runs great, no knocks or bangs.  Gearbox changes smoothly & Sport/Snow modes work as they should.
No tow bar so never worked hard.
Never been smoked in.
Original (I assume) First Aid/Emergency kit
I’m an Advanced Driver so stick to the limits, and get 32+ mpg on motorway runs.
Full Service History: First 6 at Vauxhall Main Dealers & the rest with the same independent (ex. Vauxhall) mechanic.

Next MOT due Sept 10th 2016
Only Vauxhall parts ever fitted to the best of my knowledge
Radio/Cassette/CD player CCR2006 with Bose Custom speakers – all works fine although I’ve never used the CD player as I connect my iPhone through the Cassette player
Velour interior
Bluetooth Mobile Handsfree car kit fitted (Nokia CK-1W) which interrupts & plays through the stereo’s speakers. Comes with user manuals
2 keys
Heated seats, drivers with 3 position memories, mirrors & rear window work fine
Sun roof, electric windows & headlamp washers works fine
Has luggage guard
Air con is cool.
Will come with all paperwork (incl. MOT certificates back to 2006), Owners manual, Quick Reference Guide, Audio manual, Service book, receipts, original 2003 dealer brochure (edition 2) which has a wealth of information in it, even though it’s not pristine.
Vauxhall Locking wheel nuts
Spare tyre used on 3 occasions only.
Parts
14/9/07 OSF Central Locking Motor (Vauxhall) with receipt
29/8/08 OSF Door check strap (Vauxhall) with receipt
10/9/10 Heater Control Valve (Vauxhall) with receipt
7/1/11 Battery
23/8/11 New Front Discs & Pads
23/8/11 New Rear shock absorbers
25/11/13 Centre & Rear exhaust
20/6/15 New (budget) front tyre due to recent puncture
30/9/15 New Cambelt (@ 103,700 miles)
The rear tyres are nearing replacement time, but they are above the tread depth indicators

What’s wrong with it ?
Some age related scratches.
Wheels have a few scuff marks and the lacquer is peeling in places
Power Sounder removed as the 2 small batteries were end of life – as per the suggestion on the Omega Forum. I couldn’t find the replacement batteries so I’ve not re-fitted as yet.  Parts will go with the car.
Parking sensors don’t work (hence the slight ding on the rear bumper !)
External temperature gauge doesn’t work
Front Fog lights don’t work – I have second hand parts & plan to fix them before selling
Climate Control temperature sensor doesn’t work – I understand it’ll be the hedgehog but haven’t got round to replacing it yet.  It’s been like this for c. 12 months and it’s not a hardship.

I’ve tried selling at £1,500, and so will now reduce to £1,300, but will of course listen to offers.  I want it to go to a good home with someone who’ll continue to look after it. I’ve tried to be as honest as I can about the car.  If you want further pictures or have any questions, please do get in touch.

And before anyone says anything, yes it‘s Silver !

« on: 05 September 2015, 14:36:15 »
My old thread appears to be locked and so I'm posting again.  I had a sale agreed, but that fell through & so the car is still for sale.

Please see all the details in my previous thread below...

I've just had the car MOT'd.

This is my 3rd omega and I love them.  I sought this car out in ‘07 as I wanted to buy one of the last Elite estates of the line.  I found it on Auto Trader through their useful saved search facility.
Current mileage 103,608 although I’m using it on occasions, so it‘ll rise a little until sold.
I’ve bowed to pressure from the wife and bought an MPV and so unfortunately I now need to sell.

Overall it’s a pretty good car that I’d rather not sell.  It always starts first time and I have no hesitation driving it long journeys – we’ve been on many holidays to central & southern France without any concerns.
It does have the odd gremlin creeping in, but I think for it’s age it’s been well looked after and in good condition for a 12 year old car.
Having said that I do need to sell and would like £1,500, but will of course listen to offers.
I want it to go to a good home with someone who’ll continue to look after it. I’ve tried to be as honest as I can about the car, but if you want other pictures or have further questions, please do get in touch.
Hopefully my pictures will appear here...

General Car Chat / Anyone bought from 'omegas52' on ebay ?
« on: 06 July 2015, 23:34:40 »
He seems to break a lot of Omegas and so I assume he's known to someone on the OOF.  Does anyone have any experience of buying from him, good or bad ?
Thanks

A shame to change a cult classic...  Happy memories of Saturday night watching on telly (especially Daisy Duke !)

General Car Chat / V8 Omega conversion
« on: 30 June 2015, 22:26:43 »
So, I've seen a little discussion on this in the past.  My question is has anyone successfully installed a V8 engine into an Omega for road (as opposed to racing) use.  I'm of the view that a 350 Chevy engine & autobox should be a reasonable fit, and think the car would be a real wolf in sheep(ish) clothing.  Any ideas ?

General Car Chat / 2.5TD
« on: 27 June 2015, 18:28:36 »
When I was in the market for a new company car in about 96/97, I was disappointed to hear that Vauxhall had replaced the 2.5TD with the 2.2TD. I think I'm right that the 2.5TD was from BMW - is that right ? If so, is it the excellent combination that  it sounds: BMW performance & build quality in a well priced Omega

General Car Chat / 16" spare wheel on a 17" wheeled car
« on: 26 June 2015, 19:47:41 »
On the odd occasion I've had to put the spare on my '03 Elite, I've been wondering about the fact it's a 16" spare wheel whereas my car has 17". The guidance is to run at 50 mph, but the tyre's speed rated to the usual - well in excess of 100 mph.  Is it recommended to not exceed 50 as the car might be slightly unstable given the slightly smaller overall diameter ?

General Car Chat / Ever heard of John Dodd ?
« on: 25 June 2015, 22:32:31 »
Be honest...

I came across his name in around 1976 (from memory) and his exploits have stuck in my head ever since.  Last year I finally met him & his creation at Dunsfold Aerodrome at an event.  Any ideas ?

No, check this out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTviUXapYGY

Really interesting guy and what a machine...

Omega General Help / Tyre choice
« on: 25 June 2015, 00:37:23 »
I've used Pirelli, Michelin & Dunlop successfully on my Omegas but suffered with Kumhos I was recommended a couple of years ago (I'd never touch them again) by my local eTyres fitter. What would folks recommend for reasonable wear & performance ?

Omega General Help / LPG upgrade
« on: 25 June 2015, 00:23:46 »
Out of interest, does an LPG upgrade give any improvement in MPG, or is it simply the case that the fuel is cheaper (not forgetting that the tank and LPG add weight to the car).
Thanks

Anyone know what the most popular colours are for our cars, a top 5 or 10 perhaps?
Mine have been 2x Silver and 1x black
