Thanks for the detailed reply. Really appreciate it. I have double checked the whole cable. The bore is clean and the seal good. All tight now. Absolutely dead when ignition turned on. Just get the lights on dash. Still get code 0335. All I can do is try another sensor and if that doesn’t work I think I’ve had enough of it.

Just to clarify. The oil is in the part of the sensor which is inside. Only visible when I removed it for inspection. Outside is ok. Is it normal to be oily.

Update. Removed and inspected. Has the Bosch number stamped on it 0261210131 and made in Romania as someone else said. Now interesting you mention it straight in bore.  It seemed loose!  And not being an expert on these matters it was covered in oil. I assume this is normal as it is stuck in the bottom of the engine, but I thought I’d ask. The electrical switch seems fine.

Invoice says 90540743. And I recall it having Bosch stamped on it. It’s persistent rain here as usual. I’m based over in Ireland at moment. I’ll check car eventually. I’ll probably remove and check the whole length.
Cheers again guys for your patience with this prolonged problem.

Really appreciate the feedback. I will get under the car tomorrow if it stops raining and have a fresh look. And I’ll check the contacts. I appreciate the offer Terry. After checking I will pm you. The dealer says it must be something else and would require the car to test it as I fitted the part and they don’t accept returns on electrical items!  Really helpful.

Omega General Help / More crank sensor woes
« on: 17 October 2019, 14:20:47 »
Hi folks. I’ve read all the history but I’m hoping for some inspiration!  Replaced the sensor with genuine gm Bosch part all way from Germany through dealer. 95 quid all in. Car ran fine for 2 weeks and hey ho same problem this morning. Starting difficult and now it’s cut out altogether.
I have inspected the two ends and they seem fine. I rerouted it up by the brake pipes to keep away from heat.
Any thoughts or tests. The code is 0335 crank position.

Many thanks folks. Ordered one today from a real dealer. Just got to wait patiently for it to come all the way from the motherland.

Update. Went to car this morning and yep it started. So can anyone explain how this is intermittent. Does something reset itself.

Omega General Help / Crank sensor 2.6 v6
« on: 20 September 2019, 07:45:02 »
Hi folks urgent advice needed.
Had poor starting and now the engine has cut out and won’t start. Scanner displayed with all the usual dash lights. Suspect it is crank sensor from other posts. Do we agree. Now I understand there are two types. Is this the case on the face lift 2.6. OR was that only the earlier 2.5

Thanks

Omega General Help / Re: Rear pads
« on: 04 July 2019, 14:31:29 »
Now I know you are all waiting an update. After stripping three pads hadn’t worn at all. The one offending pad had no friction material!  Maybe it detached and then fell apart. All were hard to remove so I gave the calipers a good clean up. The new ones move freely now. Thanks again. Until the next time.  I think it might be the old girls last year.

Never thought brake pads would raise so much interest in the community.
I don’t drive like an idiot.
Removed the pads now. They were mintex. Do we rate them. The outside pad was down to the backing. The inner has about 8 mm left but was detached from the backing. Both pistons moving freely. I guess I will go for originals. Any further thoughts welcomed especially with the humour. Thanks.
Ps those pins are well and truly fubbered.

Omega General Help / Rear pads
« on: 02 July 2019, 11:54:37 »
Rear brakes started horrible metal on metal noise today. I replaced the whole system 20k ago. I expected to get more out of them than that. There is some scoring on discs as I was on a long trip home. Will I get away with new pads only. Anyway I need the part number for pads. The search brings up two different numbers. Which is correct.  What is difference as they both appear to be same. 9192126n or 9195058. They are vented but I thought they were common. Many thanks

Omega General Help / Rear quarter plastic cover
« on: 11 February 2019, 17:41:02 »
Hi I can’t seem to find a thread on this but I know I have read it somewhere. How do get the plastic panel off the rear quarter panel roof join. I have rust appearing from under. I don’t want to prise it off without some pointers. Many thanks
