Cruelty to animals
« on: 23 November 2012, 22:53:40 »

Just seen on the news the video of what that bloke was doing to that Elephant. What actually goes through people's minds to do something like that, it actually makes my blood boil, especially the way the Elephant just stands there and puts up with the abuse. I honestly cannot get into a sentence how strongly I feel about animal cruelty does my bloody head in!  >:( >:(.

For those who haven't seen the story:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-20464605

Rant over until I hear about it again  >:(.

That happened quite a while ago now Del, don't the wheels of Justice grind slow? ???
Roberts carried the 'Can' because the Tw*ts who actually carried out this disgusting act were in his employ. They have buggered off back to Eastern Europe to escape their rightful due, so I suppose you could say at least some good has come out of it! Fair play to the Elephant, if it had been me in it's skin at the time i'd have trampled the B****rds underfoot  & sh*t on the remains!

Yes I saw that on the news earlier too, and it beggars belief.
Having said that, when we see what one person can do to another person .........  :(

If people feel that strongly about animal cruelty, they should stop eating them. Especially what they call 'Halal' meat, which in many cases isn't labelled so. Halal is barbaric and should be banned. Animals might not have the same level of intelligence as (most of) us, and their methods of communication might not be as sophisticated as (most of) us, but when they're in the queue to have their throat slit and be bled to death without being stunned, they know what's coming because they've just seen it happen to their mate infront of them. Many of them shake uncontrollably, defecate and urinate involuntarily, just so that humans can over eat meat, which'll probably end up making them get bowel cancer anyway.

I read a bit of local Cheshire news yesterday. Police are looking for a man/men who have been getting into a field and sawing the legs off sheep while they are alive. This was the third occurence.

Agree about Halal meat but I don't agree with stopping eating meat (as a whole) because it's cruel because that's simply not true ;) Take the humble cow... It would be extinct by now if we didn't breed them for food (including milk) ;)

As for Halal meat, what do you expect from a race of cavemen ?

Should be band but we haven't got the balls anymore to stand up and be counted incase some muppet screems rasist at us  >:( >:( >:(

I would however like to know just how much of the meat on sale in this country is Halal  :-\
I lay a bet its been pretty high for years but hushed up incase the general public gets hold of it  :-\

Really we are all just a bunch of hypocrits.

For years we (or people we know) have "enjoyed" circuses. How do folk think that they get animals to stand on the hind legs, beg or do tricks and then spend most of their time back in a tiny prison.

As for eating meat, I stand by my premise that everyone should butcher an animal (e.g. chicken or rabbit) under supervision before being allowed to eat meat. It might also help to have compulsary visits to a working abbatoir.

For the most part we are all just a bunch of savages being forced to conform to societies rules. Remove the rules (e.g. in a war scenario) and we just naturally revert.
