Have all the door (inner and outer) handles sorted on the Austin using VW inner handles onto the Omega locks , works fine but noticed that when using inner handle the outer one works as well but thats not a problem. Also made up a rod to manually operate the locking mech on drivers door just in case the centre locking fails. Tail gate has a manual key push button as not been able to work out how to get a solenoid to work it.

NCT (MOT) passed with no advisories on the Omega .
Test conducted at 10.45 pm on a Friday night .....appointment was made in April and this was first slot available . ::)
The privately run National Test operation in Ireland is very efficient . ;D

Well done on the pass.  :y  Just as well if you had to wait that long. I’m quite lucky really, our local tyre and mot place has an online booking calendar where you can choose the day and hour and I think about three days is the longest I’ve ever waited, discounting weekends obviously.  :y

Quick service on the Omega. Oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, and cleaned the breathers.
I think it should do about 50mpg now with all that new clean shiny stuff.  ;D

Having been exactly where you are re. having lost a loved pet, I wouldn't be too quick to rule out having another dog, albeit it probably seems impossible to imagine right at this moment.

Cant even look at it at the moment.  ;D
Put it all back together the other day, it turned over ok on the starter but didnt attempt to fire. Fault code ( crank sensor related) suggests crank / cam timing is out. I had the crank pulley lined up ok , but maybe not when number 1 is at tdc. I was pretty tired and pissed off at the time.
Starting a run of shifts tonight, but if Im not too knackered, will try and force myself to have another look at it tomorrow, but I will be surprised if it runs. If not, then probably need to decide if Im going to replace the head or replace the car.  ::)

Make it pretty and swap it for a 1.5D Citroën AX ;)

200ish mpg on anything from paraffin to engine oil and apparently quite fun to punt round the lanes :D
