ECU and sensor? Or just one of them?

They are a combined part and ship as a set, the ECU is apparently calibrated to the sensor:

From what I am told, if you crack the top off the ECU once they are a few years old, there is loads of water damage as they are not well sealed (in fact looking at the casing retaining method, its not surprising!). So when they get wet they have a wobble, eventually the wobble turns into a permanent fault

Yeah ,lets strap a small ecu to the floor of the car 6 inches off the ground, what could possibly go wrong ::)
