I guess that if they are replaced when the first tell tale signs start, and before they start to leak and damage the pcb, then theoretically they shouldn't cause a problem. As with any preventative maintenance....
It's when issues or possible failures are ignored then they manifest into much greater problems.
Upto now, I've always replaced the powersounder with a new unit, but as they are now ridiculously expensive (even if you can locate one) with their batteries probably now being a few years old, replacing the batteries in your existing one ith brand spankers seems the cheaper and most sensible way to go.

Replaced the battery on the Omega with a new one from Tayna. Had to do it by the light of my phone because it was dark and I couldnt find my torch.  ::) :)

Made the wrong decision, and took the Chiltern Slug instead of driving into central London.

Good job, for once, it was late, else I would have missed it, and the next one was cancelled. But it was rammed harder than a tube train at rush hour.

Return journey was a 2 carriage DMU (Class 168 for the trainspotters), and equally rammed.  2 carriage trains on the mainline. Really, Chiltern?

And in the resulting frustration when I got back in the car to drive home from the station, took some tread off my shiny new expensive Michelins ;D

Treated the Omega to a new pair of Bosch wipers. Havent tried them yet, but hopefully they wont be shite.
The screeching on the old ones drove me to distraction.

My Audi has traction control apparently. It flashes a little yellow light on the dash when the wheels are spinning, which is nice but I’d prefer it if it actually did something …… like stop the wheels from spinning.  ;D ::)

I stick to Bosch.  I did have issues with the Aerotwins on the Silver Bullet - the passenger one always snapped and went floppy when it was cold.  But I drove that "like a cock" according to Darth Loo-knee ;D

Tried out the new Bosch wipers last night and they were smooth as silk and quiet as a church on monday night.
Sanity restored to the Omega driving experience. :)
Now if I could just track down the really annoying knocking over ripples in the road I would be a very happy man.  ::)

Went to fit the new thermostat, pin that fits in housing much bigger in dia so had to order a new housing/stat unit. coming on Mon. New water pump has a much better impeller than the old one, managed to get all but one nuts of exhaust studs and refit them. Last one snapped like a rotten twig but found a new one that is spot on in my fastener rack. Fitted the new front oil seal, what a bar steward.   Held up a bit now till I get the oil cooler sorted

Drained some water out the zafira and put some coolant in, which means I can drive it when the temperature is below zero now, which is nice.  :D
