Title: Preface door trim / moulding
Post by: MonzaGSE on 15 September 2021, 06:22:01
Hi. What do people do with the prefacelift side trim pieces? (Those that go on the doors and fenders with chrome strips on them) i have 3 Omegas pfl and all have various problems with these trim pieces. Previously i have just bought new ones whenever one falls of/gets wedged in the door opening but now it seems to be very hard to get hold of them. The problem with these is that the inside of the moulding is untreated metal that at least in our climate in Norway rusts in a couple og years. Then the plastic part falls of.
Have thought about removing the rusted out metal pieces and use some adhesive to attach the plastic piece directly to the door. But unsure to what type of glue is strong enough and also removable if i at any point in the future would want to do that.

Something like Tiger Seal would certainly hold them on but getting them back off would be tricky to say the least unless you used something like the wires that windscreen companies use to get an old windscreen out.

You can retrofit the face-lift trims. 100% plastic :y
