Drove an Omega for the first time in years yesterday! Spent the day going over it. It’s the marked police one, not been used for years!
I took precautions before starting, but it doesn’t sound right! Cam sensor code, slight top end knock and won’t rev past 4K rpm. Tomorrow will be spent working out what’s going on  ;D

Meetings, gatherings, parties etc / Oxford Meet 2017
« on: 06 June 2017, 18:34:17 »
It's been a long time since a proper Oxford meet has happened, hopefully we'll change that  :y

Today, I came across the following place;

http://thisisyourgarage.com/about/workshop/?doing_wp_cron=1496769981.5693159103393554687500

It is effectively a rent by the hour workshop, equipped with 2 and 4 post lifts, tools etc. Week day rental of £15p/hr or £20p/hr at weekends.

I must stress, I've never been here before, nor know anything of it. But, I thought it could be a great place for a meet, and get some work done  :y

If there's any interest I'll go over one day and take a look, and see what they could do for us if we booked a few bays one day. I'll take my vehicle and give a bay a go  ;D

I enjoy loaning cars to TB. They come back with more fuel in, and cleaner  ;D

It's a police donut/burger/kebab van, delivering to all the local nicks.

There is such a thing!

The Met police have 'Teapot 1', now replaced with a newer vehice...

Cars for Sale & wanted / F/S 2002 '52' 3.2 V6 Special Saloon Auto Blue
« on: 29 September 2016, 12:28:18 »
'WV52 FPX' is a Vauxhall Omega 3.2 V6 Special Auto saloon, presented in Nocturno Blue (Z20H) with texas dark cloth interior.

It has covered 191,865 miles from new, with a comprehensive history.

Naturally, being a V6 Special, it used to be a police vehicle. It served with Avon & Somerset.

The vehicle was purchased within the last few months for a client, but is no longer required.

It was purchased for £500, requiring mechanical work. A total of £1,872.68 was spent in August this year @ 191,765 miles. It has covered 100 miles since.

The work is detailed below in a copy of the invoice.

I now seek to sell the vehicle, naturally the total outlay of £2,372.68 is not sought. I would however ask £1,500 with offers considered.

Interior;

Very nice, one of the better ex police I've seen. Has a standard Omega radio/CD fitted. CDR 2005 from memory.

Exterior;

Typical ex police, bashed, scuffed and scratched. I will upload pictures ASAP, it's not unsightly, but it's not a show vehicle.

MOT - 4th of August 2017 (no avisories)
VED - Vehicle tax is no longer transferable

Omega General Help / Re: My New Omega
« on: 08 September 2016, 19:05:43 »
Point 4, as Al asks, if the air con doesn't work they do have a habit of steaming up.

It is worth checking the scuttle drain and pollen filter for debris and dampness, and if it's a saloon checking the rear boot vents.

A search will highlight the above two suggestions, if you can't find anything...someone will point you in the correct direction  :y

CD and CDX have electric height adjustment, but not forwards and backwards movement. Drivers seat forwards and backwards movement only came with memory seat.

Unless of course someone has added Elite seats!

Does your seat base look like this?

No longer available  :y

Thanks all for your input, decided to not be lazy and take it off the car!

It is a genuine Irmscher, it has the Irmscher markings and part number on the back  :y

27
I'm unsure if this is a genuine Irmscher grill. From memory, I think they only did one with the chrome surround, this one has a black surround.

Happy to take advice on genuine v repro on this.

Looking for £35 inc postage

28
There are no obvious signs of previous repair, it looks very straight. The paint is good, there are stone chips and a small graze on the O/S as pictured, but nothing too bad at all! Stone chips could easily be touched in.

There are Irmscher body kit parts available.

29
I forgot to add the price  :-[
I'm looking for £300

30
As above, I have a genuine Irmscher front bumper suitable for the facelift Omega.

It is painted in Z20R (Black Sapphire Metallic) in a very nice condition. It comes complete with fog lamps and grills.

I will upload more detailed pictures later.
