2.5 TD runs well, but needs fresh oil every 3k  :y

Welcome to OOF matey. I too have a TD estate, and I too removed the viscous fan as recommended here, however, I have refitted it since I had a couple of of overheats in the warm weather - rad and coolant system are well flushed - and may take it off again for the winter. TBH I can't see any fuel advantge on the consumption, just a noise reduction.  :y
