Management light.

Hi all, after all the work, I have another light appear. It's the car with the spanner. It came on when I went over a pot hole, seemed to be the rear end. Plugged in my reader and no codes. Cleared and it came up again. Checked for lose wires  up only found a connector on rear suspension flapping around fixed with a cable tie. Stripped and cleaned the earth strap just in case. Cleared with no codes found. Light is back! Any suggestions as to where to look next? Thanks 😊

The suspension or headlight level sensors won't produce an EML event.

Have you tried the pedal trick?

P0330 is actually Bank 2 knock sensor.

Most likely unrelate to the pothole, as the wire doesn't go in a place it could get damaged by the road.  The normal reason for Bank 2 is it getting trapped under the cam covers during any cam cover work, though could be related to any work around the electrics tray above the 2/4/6 coil pack.

Is bank 2 knock sensor behind the alternator? I took off the serpentine tensioner and trapped the wire for the sensor when refitting it. I repaired the wire though so it may be that!  ;D

Bank 2 is the other side, hence that its usually cam covers.  Bank 1 is the alternator side, and catching in the aux belt is the usual cause.

Thanks, I have fitted new cam cover gaskets so that will need to be investigated! How much will I have to take off?  :o

Depends whether you hadn't plugged it in securely, or squashed it somewhere. Not that either should have happened during a camcover change :-\

The plug is on the cable tray above the aux belt  tensioner

There's always a chance the sensor could be fubared, one of mine failed.

Quick update, I un-plugged and re-plugged the knock sensor, bank 2 and moved the plug so it wasn't flapping about. Cleared the code and since then the light hasn't come back. Happy days  ;)

Bank 2 is UK passenger side which would have been 0335.

In either case, the plug shouldn't be 'flapping loose' as they all have places to be restrained.  ???

The OP's code suggested Bank 2.

The OP's codes suggested Bank 2. P0330.

Whether or not the repair to the cable damaged by the aux belt is a good enough repair isn't relevant, because the code absolutely, 100% pointed to Bank 2 Knock sensor.  Sadly, the pedal trick doesn't give sub codes, so can't tell what it thought the issue was with Bank 2 knock sensor though.
