first you must check that the trans fluid is up to the correct level as per the guide on this forum, as there is no dipstick on these transmissions you need to be very specific on the checking. then if you have no luck then come back on here and ask for more knowledable folk than i with regards this problem.

UPDATE,

Well after reading the codes via a paperclip test and failing to show any codes it finally got plugged into a tech 2 at my buddys dealership, again no codes stored and nothing showing of any concern on the live data whilst the engine was running with the aid of a little throttle. Plenun removed again and intake removed to check again for any spilit pipes and hoses including the brake servo pipe, all good. Replaced the icv valve rubber holder and plenum seal as i had bought it to replace a sloppy fit but no change in symptoms, wont idle when hot.
So decided to change the crank sensor with a new gen vx part fron vx, fitted said part and the car is now cured, idle rock solid for over an hour, so happy that it was the CS.
Seems i have found a new symptom of failing CS to add to the others that are known about.
VERY happy bunny.

well what is it, if its a fuse from a shell then it should be safe as the shell contained the bangy stuff, the fuse has a small amount of  bang but if its on its own then it has,  or should have gone off at some time. where is the rest thats the worry. Looks german from what i can see.

With ref to the wishbones, i would be looking to rebush with polybushes if the lower ball joint is ok, easy enough to do the maintanence section has a guide for this.
check the steering idler arm located on the passenger side front footwell area for play or slop.
Then check all the wheel nuts and bolts on the struts.
Drop links will give you the sound of a knock going over rough road surfaces.
Top mountings on the front shocks have a knack of giving a knock sound so dont rule these out either.

Removing the top nut is not the most important thing in this issue, a lack of suspension turret is though.

Could be the dreaded thrust washer has decided to fail, normally you will find some evidence of it in  the smaller of the 2 sump pans.

full tank of fuel AL. Runs loverly until idle speed. revs cleanly and no miss fire. on the road drives fine but wont idle.

I did check all the plugs at the back when the intake manifold was off, found nothing disconnected plus i would have thought that if the cs was unplugged it would not start.?

I've read that guide several times and have tried it as well, but the readings i get mean jack according to the code lists on here. dont worry the guide is fine its the operator.
