and we are declining in number where we aren't breeding enough

Don't worry about the UK's declining population, Rods2, it is being boosted by immigration on the one hand and teenaged girls who seee getting pregnant and living off state benefits (pramfaces) as a good career move on the other hand. Not a good economic stratagy, though, for the rest of us who have to pay for them.....

Putting my economics hat on, the more inclusive a society is so the maximum number of people have the opportunity to reach their peak economic output, the monetary richer a society and the more comfortable it is for everybody.

So, I'm against discrimination from that point of view. Now what is good for long term good of a society is a completely different question and this a multi-faceted one, but one fundamental is that contraception is too effective in Western society and we are declining in number where we aren't breeding enough, now gay families also have children, so this benefits society, so you can't blame this. IMO we are here because our parent made sacrifices to have and bring us up and our duty is to do the same, with the caveat, that this is also a personal choice

The libertarian in me says let people live their live so they are happy with the minimum of laws and political interference, so as long as it is legal and not to the detriment of those immediately around us, who are we to dictate how other people live their lives?

Many questions leading to questions and no easy answers here (philosophy is asking impossible questions leading to improbable answers), so what do you think?

Usually, 12V-only coolboxes use a semiconductor heat exchanger based on the Peltier effect, which removes heat from the junction of the elements and that heat requires a fan to cool it. They can be noisy, especially the cheaper ones, but should not require leaving on overnight.
The one I had when last I went camping and did leave it on overnight exploded canned drinks in it because it got cold enough to freeze the contents solid!

Now that Hammond and May have announced that they will be leaving Top gear too, the BBC are obviously regretting their hasty action in sacking Clarkson and will soon try to woo him back to Top Gear - let's hope.
Strange that Clarkson says he likes working for the BBC now, considering what he said about them when he WAS working for them!

If you have the wrench horizontal so that the weight of the lever isn't a factor, you can apply the torque with a spring balance or, preferably, one of those cheap portable digital luggage scales from Lidl/Aldi and pull on it to the required force.

This may be a silly suggestion, but I will make it anyway - what if you remove the battery altogether? If your 12 volt demands are not great and you are always on site electrics, the charger will meet those needs directly without the battery?
I did exactly that back when I had an elderly Sprite; it didn't have a battery anyway and I made a 12 volt power supply with a maybe 10 amp capability, but it was only really needed to run the water pump and minor ancilliaries as I had 240 lighting and fridge.

You seem to have enough willing readers, Kate, but if you want another, add me to the list.

Darth's location is given in the listings as Death Star, but surely he has a temporary residence here on Earth?

An interesting dual standard here; they spend no end of money on Gatsos, Specs, Average Speed recorders and police man-hours on speed monitoring equipment (or "traps" as some know them) in the interests of "safety", and yet cannot afford to fund something as basic to safety as being able to see where you are going!

How petty can you get? I read in today's paper that the BBC has removed Clarkson from the Top Gear magazine (spite?) but retained May and Hammond.
I also learned recently that around the time of the "fracas", Clarkson had been diagnosed with suspected cancer - no excuse, I know, but it does affect one's mood.....

Chris, Nigel Farage has pledged to make it a Bank Holiday if his party gets in, and also to stop the scotch interfering in our parliament in matters that don't concern them.....
