If you did report it to the police Pete, be careful now... Years ago I let a business partner take one of the company cars to go to an exhibition in Germany. 2 days after his due return date, with no word from him, I reported it to the police but was told. 'As it was taken with your permission we cannot report it as stolen'.. He returned later that day. The next day I was visiting a customer using that car. The police turned up and arrested me for nicking it.....  :D ;D ;D ;D

I didn't in the end. Even though I spent most of yesterday driving around Cheshire/Shropshire and him not returning my calls I thought I would wait to see if I could get in the lock up today :y

Gutted for you Pete, nothing worse than being let down by a mate! Hope you can come to some sort of arrangement that doesn't involve you smashing his face in, you'll end up worse off if you do! If you do get back in to the lock up you could compensate yourself with a nice bit of snap on etc  ;)

You could always be kind to him and "lend" him a really substantial padlock for his lock-up - just to make sure that novillain attempts to steal your car or any of his belonings in there?
He may well want to rush over to you and thank you for your consideration......

It has been suggested that once I've removed the car I fill the locks to his lock up with super glue ::) ;D

Unfortunately Pete, if you were to do that you could be done for criminal damage. As far as I am aware, your simply "donating" a padlock to aid his security would not be illegal - just a kindly gesture?

Hmm. Keep an eye out for any parking tickets and NIPs landing on the doorstep. ::)

The Jag isn't insured so I've just been getting quotes for short term insurance. I thought I would get a months insurance so I could take it for quotes to get the work done. The best one so far is £291 :o :o It only cost me £254.80 for a full year fully comp ;D ;D

insure online? usually 14 days distance selling clause usually results in a small cost for the period insured and an admin charge, usually about £50, when cancelled on day 13  ;) If that gives you enought time to sort it  :-\

I tried to get quotes for a days cover on a friends Gallardo so I could blag the keys off him (because "you bend it, you bought it" doesn't work so well with something worth far more than my savings! ;D) .. nobody would even quote me ;D
