Engine management light on
« on: 05 April 2015, 13:56:51 »

Just changed rocker covers and thermostat, on start up got engine management light on. Codes 0120 showing. The top black cover of the plenum is drawing air in through broken O rings, could this cause a problem?

You need a new transfer pipe :y

Without the bracket, the pipe will eventually shake free, causing complete cooling loss which will destroy the engine in about a minute :o

Don't mean to sound melodramatic, but the thermostat sits directly above the water pump, so it will pump coolant out until it runs out...

Don't drive it there ;)

Pipe will pull straight out/refit the same... make sure lifting eye etc is all in place when you replace it otherwise you run the risk of cracking the stat housing or bracket.

Note to others... you might think you're saving yourselves £15 by not getting the pipe, but you'll as likely need it, and they are usually a two day wait.
