Driving through Stemoshire today on the A1(M) I saw a caravan towed by a Tesla.  :)

That's the great thing about travel. The weird and wonderful things you see in furrin parts!  :y
.

They can't be going very far then..😂

We were at Boroughbridge in July with our caravan & there was a couple there with a Tesla, the wife was almost in tears over the terrible journey they'd had due to the car they were using it had taken them several hours because of charging difficulties, her final words to us were " I just want a normal car again". The caravan clubs have done several tests on various electric cars & none are up to a decent journey towing.

Who, in their right mind, would tow with an EV? They deserve everything they get.

It won't tow anything very far, but the Tesla Model X weighs about as much as a Range Rover so should be pretty stable. :-\

Besides, if it catches fire, that's one less EV and a bonus one less caravan  >:D

Stability is of no use if you're having to stop every farts end. 400 miles in a Range Rover maybe 7 hours if you stick to the speed limit. Add 3 or 4 charging stops into that and you're talking 10/11 hours. (Excluding any stops needed to extinguish the Tesla)

Well at least they'll have somewhere to stay whilst the Tesla burns down charges. >:D

Going there first thing Thursday morning.Step granddaughter has agreed to buy[subject to it being as described]a MkIV Golf 1.9d.Unfortunately we'll not have time to stay and sample the delights of Barnsley as she has to be back home in time for her second driving lesson, her boyfriend is slightly less than enthusiastic at the idea of her driving back here especially as it's him that's going to be riding shotgun while I lead the way home avoiding the motorways.Easy enough done Barnsley to Doncaster and pick up the A18 all the way home.Hopefully we'll be able to get in/out of Barnsley before Stemo sets the whippet on us :D

If his new whippet in minus his balls you'll be alright. :)
The were whipped off this morning. Dropped him at nine, picked him up at half twelve, couple of hours kip and it's as if nothing happened. He's really pissed off with the medical shirt that stops him licking his now non-existent balls but, apart from that, he wants out and about. Can't happen for a week or so, it's gonna be a long week.

Well she bought it. '03 plate 5door MkIV Golf 1.9 with the PD100 engine.200,000mls MoT history was good with not only any fail points put right but any advisories too. A good fistful of receipts for parts/fitting seems to show it's been well looked after mechanically and it had a new clutch+DMF in May.Bodywork a bit battle scarred but the sellers wife tended to use the touch method of parking. Was it a good buy @£750[with a full test]? time will tell I suppose, fingers crossed for her.

Should be, they are fairly bullet proof. If I am right no DPF  or EGR to go wrong?

As far as I'm aware the car has a cat but no DPF as for an EGR I couldn't say.Fortunately for this trip I was merely chauffeur to get them there and if she bought it[which of course she did] to act as route planner/lead car to get home again avoiding motorways so she could drive it.

Not been down there for many years ::)

Went to the Princess Theatre in either 84/85, took my girlfriend at the the time fot an audition to join BucksFizz after one of them left.  (Was a joke)

Only place I have been since was Enfield for a Wedding and then we followed some friends to Romsey to spend the rest of the weekend. That would have been 90/91 ish.
