change oil and filter for a good 10w40 such as GM own and not Castrol.
Remove the fill neck and place the yellow cap direct in the cam cover. The fill neck encourages mayo build up.
If you only do 10 miles pr day change oil every 6 months to avoid moisture build up/mayo

Couple of suggestions that have worked for me....flat battery and stiff lock solution is to attach a +jump lead from a good battery to the starter motor + terminal and hey presto you have power to operate the central locking
Re the power sounder just snuck in behind the scuttle with some snips and cut the wire,then seal open end with shrink wrapr or insulating tape...dont worry about insurance on a 17 yr old car

In my experience a combination of the 9195077 (jurid pads) and a good disc such as GM TRADE CLUB or Pagid gives the best solution.I have also had good experience with Comline discs. These pads are also very durable.

The other thing to watch for is that the sliders are free and the pads move freely in the caliper so avoiding the dreaded corrision on the outer edge of inner face that Omegas are susceptable to. Good tip is the sand off the paint on the pads where they are secured in the caliper so they are nice free to move.

I have fitted an eternal system to my 3.2 in 2009 with clamshell center sections and it was just as good as the original FACTORY GM and lasted until 2019 when it went in the usual places on the twin pipes behing the back box.Subsequently fitted 5 more of these to other 3.2's and all good.

Minimise the warp risk by gradually unbolting the head bolts no more than 2 turns at a time in a diag. pattern

I have had many ex police senators and omegas 3.0 /3.2 manual and auto with LSD. On acquisition from the BCA or WOMA auctions they always performed 100% and were actually a nice tight diff that locked up good and early. I usually changed the diff oil and refilled with gm diff oil and tube of gm friction modifier at 100k and in every case the were performing really well many miles later.
Best way to acquire one now is to buy an mot failed ex police omega for pennies and strip it.
