I've got a couple of knackered double glazed windows and a patio door with condensation in them and it's going to be very expensive to replace them.   

Saw a Youtube vid where a fella carefully took the double glazing unit apart, cleaned and dried the glass and then reassembled and resealed the unit. It didn't look that difficult, but maybe somewhat of a faff...    Wouldn't fancy doing it with the patio door unit to be honest! 

I've come across this repair kit, where you drill two holes on the inside of the window, squirt some 'drying agent stuff' into the cavity between the two panes of glass, plug the holes with vents and Bob's yer Uncle!             Snake oil?      There's good reviews! 

I'm tempted to try the repair kit on a small window round the back though. See how it goes...      I'd better have a suitable sized bit of plywood handy just in case though...   

Anyone done this? Any pearls of wisdom for me fellas?

I've "dried out" smaller units , wouldn't fancy doing a 6' x 2'+ unit though 
I just drilled holes both ends and blew hot air through and re-sealed .
will need re-sealing well all the way round , not just holes you make (because moisture has SUCKED in somewhere

cant see the repair kit working as a permanent fix if at all ? ?
just out of curiosity why are yours going to be very expensive ? are they an unusually large size ?
replacements for most sizes are usually pretty cheap.i replaced 4 for less than £120 only last year ?

patio windows need to be toughened K glass 
probably £120 plus vat for 1 panel

Good question. 

Just an assumption really.  They're old windows with the rubber seal around. I've fitted and replaced DG units with the plastic 'click' surround fixings, but not the rubber seals, so I was thinking of fitting costs as well.   It's probably easy enough though I guess.... 

Don't really fancy messing with the patio door glass to be honest....

do you mean the older external beading, stuffed gasket (seal)  one side and a removable bead the other side ?

Probably... 

It looks like a rubber bead/seal on both sides.
