Crocs are slow moving. He has plenty of time to get in the water to escape it. :)

About ten miles per hour for short distances on land . They are consumate swimmers about the same speed . I wouldnt want to race one!

Apparently the trick is to run in zig zags as they can't change direction very quickly.  :)
