Nokia CK7W and Telematics
« on: 17 April 2012, 20:12:33 »

I suppose this is mainly aimed at TB but....

Is there any way I can get the Nokia kit working? Even if I have to unplug the telematics as I need to be able to call out from my iPhone now instead of the NCDC :-\

Mixer is the better option IMHO. But ask gayboy for his opinion, as he is running Telematics & CK-7W now.

Mute line missing from Telematics loom, so you'll need to add bits.

If you want to lose the Telematics, ideally want to depair it all first.

I should add that gayPhone voice dialling is worse than appalling. If the man from crApple was still alive, I'd ram the device up his jacksie. Sideways.

As I know your memory is shite I'll remind you... Nokia kit is all fitted (using modified TM loom) but sound level was wrong. Don't want to los the telematics at all but need the ability to call out from the gayphone ASAP. Just wondered if disconnecting the telematics would sort it short term until we manage to meet up and you fit the mixer you've been promising me for quite a while ;)

Stick gayPhone SIM in TM ::)

Volume levels are broadly compatible, but the impedence is mismatched between TM and Nokia, causing quiet audio from TM (possibly Nokia as well - would have to think about that sober). So if the other device isn't there, should be OK to feed the audio down.

The screen, HU and CDC isn't going to be over the moon if the TM disappears though.

I have the MkI mixer here out of gayboy's car. Yours if you want it?  It doesn't work though ::)

Stick gayPhone SIM in TM ::)

Firstly, taking the Micro Sim out of the gayphone every time I get in the car isn't really a viable option ::)

Secondly, it's not a compatible network ::)

So not a simple solution then ::)

Is there much involved in fitting the mixer? Or are they still not ready?

FFS... You're outside of a few bottles in preparation for MK tonight and I'm too tired so let's try again in plain, simple English for simple little me ::)

Unplug Telematics and it should work? Or just the Traffic Master unit (which doesn't work properly anyway ::))

IIRC the Nokia and Telematics were both ultra quiet when it was first tried :-\

In terms for those from Suffolk - and I've spent all day with peeps from Ipswich ::) - leave the Telematics plugged in, but disconnect the audio from the Telamatics, and feed the Nokia in there.  Obviously, if a call comes in on Telematics, you won't hear other party.

Nope... Too complex for me to manage to understand tonight. I might try getting more sense from you later this week when I'm not so knackered ::)

Enjoy Mario... I'll try to make sense later, although I think I might be best making do until I get the mixer in ::)
