Mio C510E. Best £199 I spent (bought it Xmas 2006). :)

Full UK mapping and full Europe on DVD ready to be transferred to SD card.

Great mapping software and excellent instructions. Full speed camera locations included automatically.

Ok it gets things wrong occasionally (they all do) but it is better than anything else I have used (especially Tomtoms).

I currently use the following Sat Navs

Blaupunkt DX-V in my VW Sharan
VDO MS-5500 in my Beach Buggy
Becker BE-6100 in my Ferrari
Garmin Quest II on my Honda Deauville

Blaupunkt is the most awkward as far as user interfaces, but the most reliable and accurate for actually getting you there.

The VDO is just plain awfull, and we have stopped selling them - its only because we couldn`t give the last one away that it ended up in my Buggy.

The Becker is OK, but as only a basic pictogram and voice, its difficult to compare to the colour maps of the others.

The Garmin on the Bike is OK, and the easiest to input data, but I wouldn`t trust that the roads it send me down around this part of the country would be suitable to drive down in a car.

I`m always interested to hear feedback on other systems, as we have been selling these now since they were first introduced around 12 years ago, and remember fondly the Alpine that only covered within the M25 and sold for a tad over 8 grand !!

A Panasonic DV2300N in Mello Yello. (Both for Sale) :D

and now a CARIN in the Omega. BTW I love the simplicity of this unit, yes it's slow, but the way it delivers the driving instructions compared to TomToms is so minimal. It only talks to you when absolutely neccessary and doesn't repeat itself 50 times.

and the wife has a Navsure thingy.

I can map read fine, don't need post code - just use grid reference

Original TT700  :)

And it beats the built-in Nav hands down ... tried to use that today and it wouldn't even find the street I wanted to go, let alone the house number ... (2007 map as well !!)

TT took me right there .. "you have reached your destination" to within 20ft   :)

Nissan Xavi Birdview in my Murano
Tomtom 910 as portable in hire cars and the Vauxhall

But upgrading ICE as soon as I can make up my mind, and it will be either the Kenwood DNX8200 (based upon Garmin) or the Alpine IVA-W505 with Blackbird II portable/dockable satnav...Probably gonna be the later one as I do like a portable system for hire cars...

Classic problem of using a hand held sat nav in a city or built up areas with tall buildings and tunnels.

Not a problem you will encounter with a dedicated In Car System  :y

Agreed !  ;D

Even the 'old and slow and useless' Carin system as fitted to pre-facelift Omegas can navigate quite successfully without a GPS signal.

Just bought my W reg Elite and it came fitted out with the SmartNav system incl. touch-screen link http://www.smartnav.com/satellite-navigation/gps-touch-screen.asp Only used it a couple of times so far but am well impressed. Prefer it to my Dell Axim 51v with CoPilot 7. Maybe just because the screen is closer to my ancient eyes and I can read it better  :)

Will see over the next few weeks how well it performs regarding re-routing etc due to traffic congestion on our fortnightly trips to Norfolk. Once we get past Easter all roads to Norfolk from London get really busy i.e. M11, A14, A11, A47 or M11, A11, A14, A143 or M25, A12 so will be interesting to see whether it advises any other routes.

I used to have Dell Axim X51v with TomTom, then I sold it and bought TT 520 + Western and Central Europe map and I must say that it is the best satnav I've had as at the moment I'm testing Route66 and Garmin on my N95-2 and it is just crap compairing to TomTom.
