It's still worth more than that in parts.

Vehicles of that era that had been customised were mostly Bitzas anyway, bits of this and bits of that. My mate had a customised MK1 Escort called Blue Moon, with wide alloys, side pipes, lift kit/jacked up rear, brake lights that lit up the rear axle etc. it was a show winner at custom car shows but when he crashed it, the insurance assessor noted that very few parts started their life on that vehicle. Nobody took much notice back then.
