allegedly (according to a traffic cop I know) nothing illegal about fitting a switch...using on the other hand is a different matter...which imo is pointless why fit if you are never to use

The driver / owner has disconnected the speed limiter and probably switched off  / put a bar magnet on the tachograph. ;)

The legal limit is 50 mph on single carriageways and 60 on dual carriageways.

The other possibility is that it was a police driven unit that is being used in many parts to watch out for lorry drivers breaking the law.  Usually though they have a marked patrol car somewhere about. Judging from what you say, this is however unlikely. :)

not sure any of that works any more what with smart cards etc nowadays but hey ....but I wish the £$%$^&*( would do that on the M26 and get the hell out of my way some days lol.....EMD you never seen truck racing at brands they go like a bat out of hell :o

Yeah but not with a trailer slung behind  ;D :y

that's true....although that would make racing a whole lot more interesting  ;D

Haven't included any VW based cars as they've a very limited choice of petrol... Superbs really need more than a 1.4 lump :-X

My two personal recommendations are the Astra because it might surprise youMy two personal recommendations are the Astra because it might surprise you and its local, second would be the higher mileage E Class with the memory seats.

The two runners up would be tother E class or the Insignia :y

had my company hack just under a year now(circa 40,000 mile) no major problems except routine maintenance and ample room

I didn't necessarily mean gently ::)

One of my more troubled neighbours slipped down the stairs pissed and broke his neck... his cleaner found him a couple of days later.

I suspect his abused Staffie probably gave him a shove :-X

Yes, but think about it... if he "fell" down your stairs his scumbag family will sue for your dangerous stairs  ::)

Good. One less.  ;)

Think about it further though.....NO Victim (falling down stairs is a good test to see if the euro lot have changed our rules on gravity)  = NO crime :y

that must have taken a bit of inventive driving there kevin  ??? :y

no it was no rocket but it was no slouch either the 2.2 is underated imho no not as quick as a 3.2 but then that would be due to the fact it is a 2.2  :y

It impacts the 2.6 and 3.2 that spend too much time being driven like Miss Daisy.

Ah right TB . . .that sums up my driving style perfectly ;D ;D ;D

Thought the 3.2's were more prone to this than the 2.6's though  :-\ :-\

Really???......I might disagree on that one Al  : ;D :y

« on: 24 February 2017, 16:12:51 »
I certainly wouldn't buy a sorento had one has a company car for a little while whilst it coped ok with mud/snow/ice it felt very flimsy..unlike my discovery 3 weeks ago I was towing a double decker but that had slid onto a round about  :o :y

General Car Chat / Re: Which V8 ?
« on: 12 February 2017, 16:41:19 »
Why do people need huge and sluggish 4x4's (which are essentially vans with windows) to go to the supermarket? :)

Mine looks nothing like a van  :P  :D

errrrr No ,mine don't look like a van and goes better than any van I have ever driven as for being sluggish no way just as long as you can afford not to be
