that's if the MOT man is looking and not just signing the bit of paper always check for rot yourself this is with a P38 some people swear by them and some swear at then as henry sais if you get a good one they are a great car and they drive pretty well..get a bad one and trust me it will be bad :o

MOT check finds the normal wear and tare items but i'd imagine a car of this vintage would of had all the major stuff sorted  :-\

you would hope so but then bushes do fail and rust is the major downfall of any landrover

well tbh EMD if you are looking at either an old ML or an X5 you might as well buy a P38 all as unreliable but P38 parts are a little cheaper and can be fixed by most garages

Ive seen some nightmare tin worm on those mate , not for the faint hearted unless all the rot has been cut out and new welded in  :) What P38 engine would you recommend , petrol/diesel ?

it got to be the V8 and if it is gassed even better as for rot that's landrover for you but there are rot free/rot removed p38 to be had

Is that what you had ? Wish i'd bought that from you now  :(

no mine was a discovery and if I am being honest I wish I had kept him now as it was a good car  :y

Petrol!!! The ol' 2.5 beemer engine is very agricultural in one of those, especially the auto, put ya foot down and...something happens  ??? ::)

Did they only do a V8 petrol  :-\
I see they are quite reasonably priced . Many have had the rear air bladders ripped out  :)

What about this ?

P38

seems tidy enough but you need to stand in front of it..

Son in law had one a few years ago his was a diesel only prop he had was the suspension mainly on the front seem to remember it liked to snap the springs and economy was piss poor

21-25 mpg apparently , thats not too bad considering the size of the car . Just waiting for some feedback from the seller about detailed service history .

My old boss had one...nothing but problems why not a discovery ???
